It's been more than a month since my Dad was brought to the ICU after his aorta ruptured.

Since then, he has gone back on the tube, battled several infections and was brought out of a debilitating coma. Before undergoing a series of dialyses, his arms, legs and ge****ls swelled like balloons as water found their way into his lungs and extremities. Thankfully, after his 21st cardiac arrest in March, he has had no more heart episodes.

Yesterday, he was finally going to be extubated. He was ecstatic to finally be able to eat and talk. We have been looking foward to hearing him speak. Lately, he has been wanting to tell us something, but - with the tube in his mouth and throat - has not been able to write his thoughts since he lost control of his hands and fingers.

However, that afternoon - to everyone's horror - blood suddenly started gushing out of his chest. His B/P shot up to 200, causing the precious fluid to spurt out of him like a fountain.

He was rushed to the operating room. And when the surgery was done, we were devastated to learn that he suffered yet another aortal rupture. The tube would have to stay for possibly another week.

At this point, we are solely running on donations - but even those are also almost out. We will soon be selling our home.

Thank you everyone for your help so far - without it, our Dad would have been gone by now.

How far he and our family will be able to go in the coming days...
..only God will be able to tell.

My Dad lay dying on the hospital bed last Sunday (March 26). I drew close as he struggled to face me, blood spurting out of his chest with every beat of his heart. I whispered, "Dad, do you still want us to fight?" With every once of strength he could muster, he replied with a resounding nod.

With that, we told that doctors to do all that they could as they rushed in with their revival team to shock him and administer CPR. He flatlined.

But after a minute, he was brought back to life.

Since last year, Dad was taken from us 21 times. Each time he came back. What happened to him - is still happening to him - is a mircale, and he is still fighting. However, our finances are already at an end.

After a long hiatus and since the big transfer from Manila last March, we finally got to settle and set up our mini home studio here in RM 😅

Just trying to get back on the mixing and mastering wagon by finishing a production class and completing my first full composition - It's about coming to terms with the past and rising from the ashes of 2021.
