Do you have a preference for movies? Are you interested in supporting the success of veterans and women filmmakers? Are you seeking a tax deduction during tax season?

If your answer is affirmative to the above questions, then you are the type of individual we are seeking!

Call Sign Purple Three LLC and Bad Habitz Productions LLC are independent film production companies that are owned by veterans, with Bad Habitz Productions also being owned by a woman. Together, these two companies have 3 films ready for production, 2 films in the conceptual stage, over 30 docuseries, and at least 3 documentary features in progress.

Both companies have 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsors, allowing anyone to make a monetary donation towards the development of any film and receive a tax-deductible letter for filing their taxes.

For those interested in a more involved role, there are opportunities to invest in the films and receive tax credits, as all productions will take place in states offering film tax incentives.

This provides a unique opportunity to support independent filmmakers, veterans, veteran entrepreneurs, and women in the film industry.

These are the issues that MANY of our veterans are facing today. The military denies these issues exist, therefore veterans don't receive proper treatment or benefits.

These are just a few of the issues being swept under the rug.

I have exciting news!!!!!

I saw this Facebook ad that was talking about an entrepreneur reality show challenge. Contestants spend 6 days going through blocks of exercises taught by successful entrepreneurs, over 50,000 apply, they're on season 13, so it's been around for a while.

I applied, and a week later, I was moved to the next round, which was an online interview of 3 questions. I didn't know the questions until they came up. You have 1 minute for your answer, and you have only 3 tries for each answer. A week later, I was notified that I passed that round, and my final round was a phone interview with their casting director. Last Tuesday, I had my phone interview, and the cd told me that if I made the cut, I'd know by Friday via email. Friday came and went, so I gave it no more thought. Monday, May 6th, I got a notification I was chosen!

I want to participate as it would bring a lot of exposure to both my companies, but, I would need to pay my travel to Tulsa, my housing, and my part for the caterer, because we get catered group meals 3 times a day with other participants and judges. They house us at a casino resort but I get my own room. The cost is $4,000 but the networking, working with the judges, and the local Baton Rouge social media press exposure is worth it. I'm working on getting sponsors to help me pay for my competition.

I've looked up the contestants, not the winners, and they've done really good afterwards. But since they're not on a tv network station they don't have the huge exposure. Plus The Blox loves to have veteran entrepreneurs on.

The Blox stated, "We obviously use the money to subsidize our costs to put on the event and promote the season; but right after that it's the only true commitment tool that works. As fellow entrepreneurs, we hope you can understand the importance of your RSVP in our planning process, and how payment validates that RSVP."

Today, we want to wish recipient James Fleming, one of our nation's 63 living recipients, a very happy birthday!

On November 26, 1968, Fleming epitomized bravery when he flew to the aid of a seven-man team of Army Green Berets on a reconnaissance patrol during the Vietnam War near Duc Co, Republic of Vietnam. Despite facing enemy fire and being dangerously low on fuel, Fleming embarked on a perilous search for the missing patrol. Eventually, he located them wading into a river to escape the enemy's clutches.

Hovering above the riverbank, Fleming and his courageous crew executed a daring rescue, pulling the Green Berets to safety amidst relentless enemy fire. Thanks to Fleming's unwavering determination and selflessness, all seven members of the reconnaissance patrol made it out alive. For his extraordinary valor and heroism, Fleming was awarded the Medal of Honor, presented by President Nixon on May 14, 1970.

Throughout his illustrious 30-year career in the Air Force, he continued to exemplify the highest standards of courage and dedication, ultimately retiring as a colonel in 1996.

Did you know that military families are defined by a star?

GOLD Star Family:
A Gold Star Family is the immediate family member(s) of a fallen service member who died while serving in a time of conflict. A Gold Star Family can display a Gold Star Service Flag for service members who were killed or died, while serving in the Armed Forces, from causes other than dishonorable. The number of gold stars on the flag corresponds to with the number of individuals who were killed or died. In addition to the Gold Star Service Flag, the Gold Star Lapel established in 1947 can be displayed by Gold Star family members.

BLUE Star Family:
A Blue Star Family consists of the immediate family member(s) of a service member during a time of conflict. A Blue Star Family can display a Blue Star Service Flag. The number of blue stars on the flag corresponds to with the number of individuals who currently serve in the Armed Forces from that immediate family.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HONOR BLUE AND GOLD STAR FAMILIES?
Since the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars have been ongoing for many years, people forget too soon the meaning of Blue and Gold Star Families. By recognizing the significance of a Blue or Gold Star Service Flag and a Gold Star lapel pin you can honor those who have survived, whether it’s a parent, spouse, or child. This knowledge and recognition is important to honor the families of the Fallen and those who are deployed.

Black History In The Military! A Salute to Staff Sergeant Willie Lee Topps, Sr. and the 758th and 761st Tank Battalions!

Willie Lee Topps, Sr. was born on April 10, 1919 in Tangipahoa, Louisiana. After the passing of both of his parents, Willie was raised by relatives until at 14 years of age he decided to head towards Chicago, Illinois on a solo trip.
Willie entered the military and served in both the Army and Air Force during his service career. He was most proud of his ability to travel all over the world and serve his country. Staff Sergeant Topps was the last of the World War II tankers from the pioneer 78th Tank Battalion, re-designated the 758th Tank Battalion in 1941. At Camp Hood,Willie worked with the 761st Tank Battalion and trained them in all phases of armored warfare. In combat, he returned to the 758th Tank Battalion where they supported the 92nd Infantry Division (the Buffalo Division) in Italy.
After the war, as a member of the Chicago Chapter of the 761st Tank Battalion & Allied Veterans Association, Willie met regularly with chapter members in his basement. This became their headquarters adorned with memorabilia depicting their combat history. They began with about 30 members in the 1950’s and by 2006, the group had declined to seven members. In 2016, Willie became 758th's sole survivor of the group.
Willie passed on December 3, 2017 at the age of 98. Lest We Forget.

The man you're looking at is 1st Sgt. Pascal Cleatus Poolaw Sr, a full blooded Kiowa from Anadarko, Oklahoma, who joined the U.S. Army in 1942.

His military career and combat experience is beyond remarkable, fighting in WW2 with the 8th infantry in the ETO (43-45), then in Korea (50-52) and Vietnam (67).

His actions earned him 42 awards to include 3 Purple Hearts (one for each conflict), 4 Silver Stars, 5 Bronze Stars, CIB with 2 Stars, and a Distinguished Service Cross; making him the most decorated Native American Indian in US history. He even received a battlefield commission, but refused it. He then retired in 1962.

In 1967, his son Lindy, received orders for Vietnam. Having the father and son of the family serving in combat at the same time was nothing new to Poolaw. He had served in World War II with his dad, Ralph Poolaw Sr., and his two brothers. But upon learning about the letter, Poolaw came out of his retirement and volunteered for the combat zone with the hope of serving there in place of his son; sparing him the horrors of war. Regulations prohibit two members of the same family from serving in combat at the same time without their consent.

When Poolaw finally reached the port of departure on the West Coast, he discovered Lindy had left for Vietnam the day before. He decided to follow his son.

Only 4 months after arriving in country, on 7 November 1967, while serving with Co. C, 26th IR, 1st Inf Div.. First Sergeant Poolaw was accompanying his unit on a two-company search and destroy mission near Loc Ninh. As the patrol was moving through a rubber plantation, they were subjected to sniper fire. Within minutes, the area was raked with intensive claymore mine, rocket, small arms, and automatic weapons fire from a numerically superior Viet Cong force. First Sergeant Poolaw unhesitatingly ran to the lead squad which was receiving the brunt of the enemy fire. With complete disregard for his personal safety, he exposed himself to assist in deploying the men and establishing an effective base of fire. Although wounded, he continued to move about the area encouraging his men and pulling casualties to cover. He was dragging a wounded man to safety when he was mortally wounded.

In a letter he wrote just before his death, Poolaw said he rated his job as being more important than his life.

During his eulogy, wife Irene said: "He has followed the trail of the great chiefs. His people hold him in honor and highest esteem. He has given his life for the people and the country he loved so much."
