Cate will facilitate community workshops in Torry to enable participants to interact with multiple perspectives and lead a process to determine a direction and actions for groups that are relevant and benefit to the wider community.

Communities in Torry can get involved by contributing to our online platform and are also invited to attend our workshop in St Fittick's on the 21st March.

Do you live in Aberdeen ? Do you want your voice and perspective to matter? Are you over 18?

Our project asks: What can we learn from the real experiences of people's lives ? Can individual perspectives paint a better picture of a community and its needs? Can this collective narrative inform decision making groups in Aberdeen ?

Please take a moment to express what matters to you : https://collector.sensemaker-suite.com/collector?projectID=549b3ffa-72df-4cd3-8a8e-d2d68a3e9ad9&TIC=AberdeenSM

What do we ask ? 🙂
We are invite you to share a story of a recent lived experience. It is online, all contributions are anonymous and take 15-30 minutes. You will then answer different questions which directly interpret your story and what it means. We aim to generate deeper insight into the themes and needs of communities in Aberdeen - in a community led platform.

“This week has been a bit tough (and it's only Wednesday morning). Returning to work from annual leave and feeling like winter has come (with the rainy weather and shorter days). I felt like when I left for a week away it was summer and that I've come back to winter. This whole covid thing doesn't help things either... Winter might be a tricky one this year... here's how I feel about it all. DISCLAIMER: please keep wearing your masks, wash your hands regularly and stay at home where you can).”

Photo taken in New York, USA by Michael Walter-

“I shot this photo in mid-March 2020, just as NYC was entering lockdowns. I remember walking around that day, stunned by how such usually busy areas as Times Square and Herald Square were nearly empty. A normally bustling city felt eerie and desolate. At the time, NYC public health authorities were asking people to help "flatten the curve," a phrase that would, over the coming weeks, seem to morphe into an ideal of eliminating any COVID risk altogether, at profound societal costs and civil rights risks.”
