Long one but please read!
So Facebook has released a statement about the issues many streamers are facing, including myself!
So Long story short if you enjoy my content make sure you have NOTIFICATIONS turned ON ❤️
Reach issues update
We know some of you have seen drops in reach for your streams recently. We’ve been investigating this issue and wanted to give you an update.
Many of these drops are being caused by a reduction in reach amongst viewers who don’t follow your Page. These are usually viewers who discover the stream while browsing in newsfeed.
This isn’t affecting all creators equally. If the majority of your normal audience follows or ‘hard follows’ your Page, then you should have seen less of a drop. If the majority of your normal audience comes from non-following viewers - basically, casual newsfeed watchers - then you have likely seen a larger drop, proportionally.
Regardless of your audience makeup, the team is working hard to improve this and address the issue.
While the issue is worked on, existing followers of your Page will continue to receive notifications and see your streams just as they had before. Also, gaming-specific areas like the Gaming tab (in app), fb.gg (desktop) and Facebook Gaming app remain unaffected by this issue.
Viewers who find your stream via newsfeed are often a large portion of your current viewers, but as they do not follow you (initially), that number will always vary. This can cause reach to fluctuate, which is expected, but an overall drop like this is unexpected. We know any fluctuation can be unsettling, so we’re sorry it’s been worse than normal. This is a problem we need to solve, and we’re committed to making this right.
To help your current streams, continue to encourage viewers to follow you (ideally via !notify command, or with the ‘bell’ icon clicked on), and ask existing viewers to share the stream to help grow viewership organically. Continue to stick to your schedule and keep engagement as high as you can. Long term success will always be found with engaged viewers.
