A good Samaritan in Delhi was killed when a speeding water truck ran him over and fled the scene. Shamsher Singh had just helped an injured biker into a car and was waiting for a police van when the accident occurred. Another witness, Amarjeet Yadav, managed to record the truck's registration number and later filed a complaint with the police. The truck driver, identified as Bachchan Sahani, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with causing death due to negligence and rash driving.

Bamnoli land acquisition HC reserves order on Delhi chief secretary's plea for interim relief

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday reserved its order on a plea by Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar seeking interim relief in a defamation plea filed against news portal ‘The Wire’, over its alleged defamatory article casting aspersions on him in relation to the Bamnoli land acquisition matter.

The plea came before Justice Sachin Datta who said he would pass an order on the interim application.

The defamation suit was filed in relation to a news article published by ‘The Wire’ on November 9, which alleged links of the chief secretary’s son to the beneficiary’s family.

The 19-acre land in question was acquired by the National Highways Authority of India in 2018 for the construction of the Dwarka Expressway.

Kumar, in his plea, has sought to take down the article as well as a direction to restrain the news portal and the reporter from publishing any further defamatory articles against him.

During the hearing, senior advocate Maninder Singh, who appeared for Kumar, said the article was “pre-planned” in order to “activate” people against him and to “please some people”.

The counsel for the news portal said the intention behind the article, which only raised a few questions, was not to defame Kumar in any manner.

The suit said that a legal notice was also sent by the chief secretary to the portal and the reporter on November 13, claiming that the contents of the article are ex-facie misleading and per se defamatory.

According to reports, the price of the land was increased from Rs 41.52 crore to Rs 353.79 crore in May and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs initiated action against South West Delhi District Magistrate Hemant Kumar for approving the enhanced compensation.

Dwarka expressway land case: Delhi asks CBI, ED to launch probe

The compensation for the acquisition of a 19-acre plot in southwest Delhi's Bamnoli village was increased to Rs 353.79 crore from Rs 41.52 crore in May, the Indian Express reported.

The Delhi government has written to the ED and CBI directors recommending a probe into the alleged involvement of Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, District Magistrate (South-West) Hemant Kumar and Divisional Commissioner Ashwini Kumar in allegedly paying excess compensation for a land parcel. can be given. According to government sources, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had directed Minister Atishi to take action in this matter after preliminary investigation by the Vigilance Department.

DDA's festive scheme:1,100 luxury flats in Dwarka are available for auction

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Wednesday approved the auction of 1,100 luxury flats in Dwarka under the 'Festival Special Housing Scheme 2023'. Penthouses, High-Income Group (HIG), and Super HIG flats at Dwarka 19B, overlooking the upcoming DDA golf course, are priced between Rs 1.4 crore and Rs 5 crore.

In DDA’s latest housing scheme, more than 32,000 flats of different categories will be available at various locations, including Dwarka, , and , reported PTI citing an official statement.

On Wednesday, the Delhi Development Authority's highest decision-making body, headed by Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, gave approval for the launch of the ‘Festival Special Housing Scheme 2023’.

As per the report, the complete process, from application to allotment and possession, will be conducted online through the DDA's website. Further details of the scheme will be soon shared by the DDA on its website, in leading newspapers, and through social media.

Where the flats are located?

These flats are offered under the scheme through two different modes: e-auction and First Come First Serve (FCFS), based on their location.

According to the report, about 316 MIG (mid-income) flats in Sector 14, Dwarka, and 647 flats in Loknayakpuram will be available through e-auction mode.

Additionally, 728 EWS flats in Sector 19B, Dwarka, 316 LIG (low-income group) flats, and 1008 EWS flats in Sector 14, Dwarka, along with 224 EWS flats in Loknayakpuram and over 28,000 flats in Narela across various categories, will be offered through the FCFS mode.

Delhi: Senior chops off Class 12 boy's finger for interacting with female classmate

A Class 12 student's finger was allegedly chopped off by a senior over his friendship with a female classmate in Delhi's Dwarka South, police said on Friday. The incident happened after the boy was taken to a park and assaulted with a stone, the cops added.

The accused was a student of the school where the victim studied but had already graduated, the cops said.

The alleged incident occurred on October 21. But the boy didn't open up to anyone as he was intimidated by the accused.

To keep the horrible assault under cover, the boy claimed that his finger was chopped off in an accident, news agency PTI said. He blamed a motorcycle chain for the "mishap," PTI quoted the Delhi police as saying.

However, the boy finally disclosed what really happened to his parents on Friday. The family wasted no time to lodge a complaint with the police.

An FIR has been registered in connection with the shocking incident.

The victim told police that the accused met him outside the school and took him to a park. The senior objected to the victim's friendship with a female student in the boy's tuition class and attacked him with a stone.

Suspected extortionists open fire outside property dealer's.

Two individuals suspected of extortion, riding a motorcycle, reportedly discharged fi****ms outside the office of a real estate entrepreneur in the Bindapur locality of Dwarka, Delhi, on Wednesday, according to the police.
The purported incident took place at approximately 2:30 pm on Tuesday, as reported by the authorities.
The real estate dealer informed the police that two individuals on a motorcycle initially discharged their fi****ms into the air before proceeding to fire shots at the entrance gate of the office.

Three nabbed for thefts at wedding events in Delhi

A gang from Madhya Pradesh that posed as guests at wedding functions in the capital and committed thefts has been busted by Delhi Police.
Two men - Prashant Sisodia (23) and Kundan (33) - were arrested and a 15-year-old boy was apprehended in southwest Delhi's Kapashera.
An incident of theft was reported at a wedding function in a farmhouse on Dwarka Link Road on October 22.

Three youths, aged between 19 to 20 years were stabbed by some persons in Delhi’s Dwarka area, an officer said on Wednesday.

Sharing the details, the officer said that on Wednesday, an incident of stabbing was reported at Dwarka North police station.

“The incident occurred near Dwarka Sector-13 metro station and not at any Ramleela program. It is alleged that some persons stabbed three boys after a quarrel. All three are residents of Tara Nagar area, ” said a senior police official.

“The cause of the quarrel is not clear. It is suspected that they may have had a quarrel earlier as well. Investigation is being done, ” said the officer.

“A case has been registered under sections 307 (attempt to murder), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and teams have been formed to nab the accused, ” the officer added.

40% of unsold flats are gone in 3 months, DDA gets Rs 506 crore...

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has sold almost 40% of its unsold inventory under the first-come-first-serve housing scheme. Out of 5,623 flats, 2,236 have been sold, generating a revenue of Rs 506 crore. The remaining registrations are expected to materialize soon. Despite concerns, even EWS flats in Narela have been sold. The lieutenant governor has set a target to sell at least 40% of the total unsold inventory in the current fiscal year. Ammonia in groundwater of 180 societies of Dwarka, water tested on orders of NGT

The presence of ammonia has been found in groundwater in the Dwarka area of Delhi. There is a possibility of poison spreading due to the rain water harvesting system installed in the society. On the orders of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Delhi Pollution Control Board (DPCB) had collected and tested groundwater samples in 235 societies. Out of these, the presence of ammonia was found in the samples of 180 societies.

Two youths killed in a road accident in Delhi

Two youths died after their scooty was hit by an SUV in outer Delhi area on Wednesday, an officer said.

The victims identified as Himanshu and Priyanshu sustained head injuries and died on the spot.

According to police, at 6.39 a.m on Wednesday, a police control room call was received regarding an accident near the CNG pump on Ring Road under Mangolpuri flyover in which two persons were injured.

Acting on the call, a police team rushed to the spot but found the boys dead on the spot. "Inquiry revealed that an SUV hit a scooter while they were taking a u-turn and both the rider and pillion rider sustained head injuries and died on the spot. After the accident, the driver of the offending vehicle fled the spot, " said a senior police officer.

"The bodies have been shifted for further proceedings. A case has been registered in police station and efforts are on to nab the offender, " the officer added.

NGT seeks action over Dwarka water samples

National Green Tribunal has asked the Delhi Pollution Control Committee to take action after a joint committee found contamination in the water samples of 180 societies in Dwarka.

It has also asked Delhi Police to provide security to DPCC teams, which were not allowed to take water samples from eight societies in the area.

A report filed by the Delhi government in NGT dated May 17 stated that water samples were collected from 235 societies in Dwarka, while eight societies refused permission for the inspection teams to enter the premises.

"The alarming part of the report is that in 180 societies, contamination has been found on account of the presence of ammonical nitrogen and total dissolved solid in sample water. There is no plausible explanation given in the report for the presence of ammonical nitrogen in the samples. The report is also deficient in respect of the action taken at the end of the authorities to remedy the situation," observed the NGT bench.

'Fake' ED officials raid Delhi home, 'seize' Rs. 3 crore

Three men have been arrested in connection with Friday’s sensational dacoity in Delhi’s Dwarka, where members of a gang, passing themselves off as ED officers, looted Rs 3 crore from a man after kidnapping him, police said on Sunday.
The arrested accused were identified as Amit a.k.a Jolly, Rohit alias Ashwin, both residents of Haryana’s Gohana, and Manish, a resident of Delhi’s Bawana in Delhi.
According to police, complainant Ravi, who resides in Gopal Nagar, told at around 8 p.m. on Friday, he was standing on the main road near his home when a white car suddenly pulled up.

“Three unidentified individuals emerged from the car and forcibly placed Ravi in the vehicle, claiming to be from the Enforcement Directorate, effectively kidnapping him,” said a senior police official.

Two other persons arrived in another car and brandished a pistol at Ravi, menacingly demanding that he surrender the money he had received from the sale of his property.

“They alleged that this money was associated with illegal activities,” said the official.

Subsequently, they brought back Ravi to his residence and took away a significant sum of cash, amounting to Rs 3 crore 20 lakhs and the mobile phones belonging to Ravi and his mother, all while falsely asserting that this was an ED raid.

“They then left Ravi near the Bharat petrol pump on the main road and fled the scene,” said the official.

After the matter was reported at the Baba Haridas Nagar police station, a comprehensive investigation was launched, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of one of the accused, Amit, by the Narela police.

Services were briefly impacted on Delhi Metro's Blue Line due to a minor issue in the train

Services were briefly affected on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro on Thursday night due to a minor issue in a train, sources said.

The issue was quickly resolved, they said. The Blue Line connects Dwarka YashoBhoomi Sector-25 metro station in Delhi and Electronic City in Noida. There was "no major delay" as such, a source said. For 5-7 minutes, there was a minor issue in a train around 7:30 p.m. It was sorted out quickly, the source said.

Delhi godman-youtuber Kashyap arrested in r**e, sexual assault cases

Dwarka godman Vinod Kashyap, who also ran a YouTube channel, was arrested in connection with two complaints of sexual assault registered at Dwarka North police station, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M Harsha Vardhan said.

The police registered two cases under sections 376 (r**e) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway, Vardhan added.

Delhi: Four Nigerian nationals arrested for duping woman of Rs 6 lakh

Four nationals have been arrested for allegedly duping a woman from New Delhi to the tune of Rs 6 lakh on the pretext of sending her expensive gifts, police said on Sunday.

The accused were identified as Elvin Nwachi, Chukwuma Hycent Ugwa, Martin Onyeka, and Cyril Mgbeokwere. The police also seized 3 laptops, 13 mobile phones, two Wi-Fi dongles, and five SIM cards from their possession.

The incident came to light when the victim, a resident of Delhi's Malviya Nagar, approached the police and lodged a complaint.

Indian Oil caught off guard over daring theft of oil worth lakhs from its tunnel in Dwarka

Teen dies, 3 hurt as dumper hits them on closed Dwarka expressway

A 15-year-old girl died and three of her friends were injured when they were hit by a dumper truck on the under-construction Dwarka Expressway during warm-up for taekwondo practice early on Sunday morning. No one has been arrested.

The deceased was identified as Arundhati, who lived in Shyam Vihar. The injured teens, Naina Joshi, Rajesh, and Supriya, are receiving treatment. All of them are between 15 and 18 years.

After being informed at 5:30 a.m., a police team reached the spot and took all four to a hospital, where Arundhati was declared dead.

Delhi LG VK Saxena directs the beautification of roads, sprucing up the Dwarka sub-city during the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign

Multiple agencies of the Delhi government will be part of a campaign to revamp 25 major roads in the city and on the lines of those upgraded and beautified for the recently held G20 Summit, officials at the LG office said on Wednesday. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will also clean 500 locations across the city under the campaign, they said.
LG VK Saxena has also asked the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to spruce up the Dwarka area ahead of the G20 Parliamentary Speakers' Summit, they said.

Delhi: 2 killed in factory blast in Bawana

Two persons died and four others were injured in a blast in a plastic factory in Bawana area here on Wednesday, officials said.

Fire officials said they got a call about a blast in a plastic factory in Sector-3 of the Bawana industrial area and rushed six fire tenders to the spot. In the blast, five to six people got seriously injured.

A blast occurred in the factory during the manufacturing of plastic granules from cigarette lighter scrap, resulting in injury to six people. Two of them died at spot. There was no fire in the factory, officials said, adding, the wounded were rushed to a hospital and were undergoing treatment.

6 kg of he**in was seized, and five were held in Punjab's Kapurthala

Acting on a tip-off, a police team nabbed five persons near Ramidi bridge in Kapurthala, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajpal Singh Sandhu said. The SSP said police seized six kg of he**in and Rs 7 lakh cash from the accused. The accused were identified as Kashmir Singh of village Dogranwala, Swaran Singh alias Chapar of Villa Kothi, Amandeep Singh of Dyalpur, Rahul, and Atul, the police said.

After bringing the he**in from Delhi, Sukhdev Singh alias Sebi of Dogranwala, the main accused in the case, supplied the he**in to Rahul and Atul, both brothers, residing at Patel Garden in Delhi's Dwarka Mor, they added.

The brother duo were likely to give the he**in the to three other accused, the police said. The SSP said efforts were on to nab Sukhdev.

A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Delhi Traffic Advisory: Avoid Taking Rohtak Road, Dwarka Link Road Today

Delhi Traffic: Due to the high-intensity rain activity on Friday morning, some roads were waterlogged leading to traffic congestion while traffic on other routes were affected due to ongoing works

1. Traffic is affected on Rohtak Road in both the carriageways from Rajdhani Park towards Tikri Border and vice-versa to waterlogging.
