Sometimes I think that the "The True Nanny Diaries" wrote itself. I felt like witness, not writer, as Ms. Valdi confided that being undocumented was death experienced while standing erect. She roared through my keyboard that you babysit the white kids, and you hang-out with friends as if you belong … HERE. You walk American streets dragging a leaky bag of dreams. Valdi said she didn’t leave her Trinidad privilege for that but there was no backward, or forward. She was dead, unburied while working and laughing. I hardly ever mention my book, actually Valdi’s book but it finds its way around through supporters like Alton who has arranged for the renowned Melissa Noel to interview me tonight at 7p.m. I hope you can join us! Thanks and blessings!
