•Band Royale• The LOUDEST Band Competition in the region is back again & we've brought not 10, not 20, but 40 bands with us!....Kicking, snarling, wailing & competing for the pleasure of your lovely ears! Starting April 2014 and running each Friday Night until July - the Grand Final! Those that progress will have to impress the audience and our judges to get through to the 4 quarter and semi final
s; with four acts heading to the Grand Final! In 2008 Band Royale saw Cafe Matisse become the center of the live music world for 15 weeks. ‘Aspen Grove’, the eventual winners have gone on to sign up to a record label and tour throughout Europe. 2010’s competition saw Hippies on the Hill win the accolades. The young & talented band recently announced a UK tour and will be headlining the Masque in Liverpool as this goes to print.
“This event will see a fantastic array of genres, attitudes & experience battling it out to be crowned the number one band in the area! We encourage all ages and levels to apply, but be warned; although the audience vote does count, it is the judges who will ultimately be making the decisions!”

By joining the competition, entrants allow any videos, photos & audio recordings taken at Band Royale events to be used in promotional purposes to enhance the competition. Judging
Several independent judges will be chosen from a music related background each week to decide which act follows through to the next corresponding round. Judging is based on multiple factors. Voting slips are counted by the judges. The judge’s decision is final. Cover songs are allowed and there is no upper limit to how many you can perform. Judging covers is based upon the act’s ability to ‘recreate’ a track and make it their own, amongst other factors. Raffles are conducted by Band Royale staff only. Tickets cost 50 pence for one and £1 for 5 tickets. Raffle winners will be picked by the host on the night and their decision is final. Entry to the venue works on a rock, paper, scissors format – beat us at the game on the door and we’ll knock £1 off the normal £3 entry price! By attending a Band Royale event you allow us to use any photos, video or audio from the competition in promotional purposes.

Bands/Acts MUST bring their own:
Guitars & pedals;
Picks and batteries;
Spare strings (you never know!);
Guitar amps for each guitar;
Connecting and Power cables, including connectors for specialist cables;
Drum stands, stool, pedals, snare, cymbals – we will try to provide a kit as changeovers will need to be kept to around 6 minutes;
Effects pedals (e.g. vocal pedals);
Keyboards & connecting cables, and the stand;
- We will supply a bass amp for on-stage monitoring which is fed directly to the PA via a DI box – if you want to use your own please keep it small as the stage is not huge!
