The Šóta or Smoke name meaning:
Šóta [pronounced: Sho-tah], which Šòta means Smoke in the Lakota Language. It's spelled differently from the regular spelling of the šhóta/smoke word in the Očéti Šakówiŋ‘s Languages.
Not any smoke, you smoke or see, but it was a honorable name originated from a prominent warrior society called: Tokala or Kit Fox. Chief Smoke and Solomon (Smoke II), were both given the name by the Lakota people in 1797 and 1863. The logo picture is of Solomon (Smoke II) and Solomon was W. Smoke’s great-great grandfather.
