Clan mother werebear Hopa the Massive leads the Malar worshipping lycanthropes living in the forest. They live in a very simple manner in natural shelters concealed by vines, leaves and branches. A wooden totem dedicated to Malar is placed in the center of their tiny settlement where the Children of Black Blood perform their daily prayers and rituals.
This ragtag group has only one goal in common: escaping persecution and civilization. They all want to be left alone and not to be disturbed. Hopa’s dominating leadership also suppress some of the wilder instincts and hostilities of the group and lead them to a more peaceful life.
Hopa and her young son, Kazi, are the only werebears of the cult, while the rest are made up of werewolves, wererats, and wereboars. Hopa has a sweet tooth for honey and she recently heard the fame of the Halfling village Willownook’s apiaries. She is considering either offering a trade deal to the village or sending the wererats as thieves to “sample” the honey.
