For all those wondering about the lake: With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake, which is the main source of water for the Amer Palace.

Interesting Facts: The town of Amer and the Amber Fort were originally built and ruled by the Meenas but only for a brief time. Later, it was ruled by Raja Man Singh.

Happy Independence Day to us of us Indians. It’s been 74years already!!

Today, we are breathing in a free India because of hundreds of thousands of our freedom fighters and today's security forces, be it the army, the police or other security forces. The day of freedom and Independence is a day we remember the sacrifice of all our freedom fighters. It is a day which brings joy and hope to us all.

Igatpuri Ch 01:

I went Igatpuri on 28th June 2020. It was an ad-hoc plan to just simply explore some place for we were tired of being locked in our apartment since past few months. The Govt also relaxed the lockdown rules around the same time, so it was a perfect opportunity for me!! It started as a long drive which eventually led us to this beautiful location...

Ps: Govt announce 2km rule in Mumbai the very next day. So I believe we were extremely lucky to have this opportunity 😅😅

Many of you asked me why I’m sharing so many clicks of this specific place. Well that’s because all of my beautiful memories of Vapi are one way or another way connected to this place. This one we clicked on the day of my birthday in 2018..

Vapi is also Known as the City of Chemicals, it is the largest industrial area in Gujarat in terms of small-scale industries, dominated by the chemical industry. In 2008 it was ranked the second-most-polluted place in India, mainly due to its poor air and water quality caused by nearby industrial sites. And thus, it felt amazing to find such a nature friendly ultramodern resort developed on the outskirts of the city of Vapi.

Ps The sun seems to be playing peekaboo with me here...

Vapi Ch 02: Allow me to introduce my favourite place in Vapi, Gujarat. Everytime we go Vapi, I make sure to visit here. One, for I simply love their gym and swimming facilities. Two, for the breakfast served is so tasty. And obviously for the fact that it’s so so so beautiful!! If you don’t like to walk or run on the treadmill, well they have such huge lush green well maintained grounds for the same.

Vapi Ch 01: I created this short timelapse enroute Mumbai to Vapi via NH48 on 21 July 2018. Well, I honestly loved this view so much that we stopped our car here just to enjoy the view for sometime. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed this scene first and then when we were about to leave I thought of capturing the memory. Hence, it’s way too short of a video but I just love it!!

For those who don’t know, Vapi is a city and municipality in Valsad district in the state of Gujarat, India.

Interesting fact: It is believed that city got its name from the old small stepwell situated near the balitha area. The meaning of vapi (वापी) in sanskrit is a water reservoir or a water storage body. 💧

Wherever you go don’t ever forget the beauty of your own village.
In my village, all the married women are expected to wear the traditional clothes. I too love these clothes, just hate the part where we are expected to take care of the ghunghat. The ghoonghat is quite a hassle for I simply don’t know how to keep it right over my head all the time!! Unfortunately for me, the locals see it as a sign of respect. So yeah, ha dro take care if that part as well while loving these outfits! The locals actually prefer these over any other option of outfit. And why not, choose any of your fav colours to mix and match, the final outfit is always so pretty. So yeah, I‘m starting to fall in love with these traditional clothes ❤️

Here is the latest addition to my collection of the lightweight Jaipuri quilts, popularly known as “Jaipuri Razai”.
Honestly, I got it as a gift in last winter (I.e dec 2019) but didn’t get a chance to open up and see what a unique beauty it is!!!
This Jaipuri quilt is unique for both its artistic looks as well as functionality. These quilts are handmade and in making them, the artisans make sure of all their skills related to textile-making, cotton carding, quilting and of course voile making. Also, because of its soft nature, what most people tend to overlook is the fact that it is very delicate as well. At the same time, these quilts are extremely comfortable and durable as well ..

Origin story: The people of Rajasthan were always on the move and as such, they needed something to keep themselves warm during the long and cold nights. Hence, the quilt makers came up with this razai.
