I did my first stand-up routine! I need to work on my delivery and add some more punchlines but I'm still pretty proud of just doing this on a whim!

I think of a support system a bit like a tea party. Everyone's gathered around the table of friendship. The goal is to share in merriment; food, drinks, and pleasant conversation. But, every so often, someone spills the tea. If you're surrounded by a good support system, everyone pitches in by grabbing napkins and moving things out of the way. Together, they clean up the mess the best they can so that merriment can continue. If you're surrounded by a bad support system, they shout at you for spilling the tea and ruining the food or they laugh at you for getting it on your clothes and make fun of you while you clean up the mess entirely alone. ☕️

Anyone else have to remember a bunch of drug names?
My recommendation is get a note in your phone with the real names.
Mispronounced medications?😂 Kuhr for the inspiration😊

It can be hard, especially when you're both stubborn, but it's so important to keep trying to communicate. Try to be patient, understand, and see things from more than just one side. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong, and sometimes there's just a miscommunication. Own it and move forward as best you can together. 💜💚
This does not discredit space. Space and time are sometimes needed to be able to see outside of our own perspective. Putting one's self in another's mindset to try to find solutions and compromises isn't easy. 💪
New episodes from Lauren and I soon!

It's a weird feeling having to reassure my doctor I'm okay with getting an antipsychotic. I know how it sounds, but if I need one I'll take it. Bipolar is a bitch.
There's only one drug I won't try and that's lithium. I have no dislike for it, but if I have to go in for blood tests every other month I worry I'll stop feeling up for that and just quit.
I want everyone to know that new drugs come with risks, but don't fear a drug because of stereotyping.

I felt that hard
It's called balance 💜💚
Proud of anyone ....
I've been doing less makeup and wearing more pajamas so that my partner and cats are more surprised when I gussy up. Also, pajamas are comfy and makeup, hair, and outfitting can be a lot of work. Good night everyone. -Artalyn 💜
Happy Lunar New Year✨🐅🌝
Blessings and prosperity to each of you.

And now for today's Tuesday morning tea:
I've been told many times that I'm wordy. I'm wordy because I don't want things to be lost in translation even though I know there will always be something or some things misunderstood.
All any of us can do is see things from our own perspective. If we haven't had the same experiences, or background, or weren't brought up in the same region, we're going to have differences. It's impossible to not be "different" in some way. From our genetics, to how we were raised, to what we've experienced and tried in life - we're all a unique equation becoming ever more complicated and complex as we interact with the world around us.
We need to acknowledge that and do the best we can do to not just communicate but empathize and sympathize with those we don't fully understand [and we need to recognize that we may never fully understand anyone other than ourselves and... I'd argue we're always getting to know who we are as well].
If you stuck around to read all of that, first of all, thank you, I'm very passionate about the things I write and I understand I'm wordy. Secondly, shout out 📣 if you're an over-communicator like me. It helps me feel less alone. -Artalyn 😅💜💚
There is no embarrassment in trying and not succeeding. Sometimes, it takes a few tries and you have a few lessons to learn first. Sometimes, the lesson is that what you were reaching for wasn't really your path. Don't be afraid to move around and try new things. Maybe do some research, but try new, good, and healthy things. [if you want. I'm not a cop. 💜💚 -Artalyn]

We're coming back soon!
I want to get started again. I miss talking to you all! Here is an interview I did about a year ago:
https://twitter.com/mathewpassy/status/1447178855840731137?s=21
“For , I thought we'd revisit an of Causepods to learn more about depression and the stigma people feel when reaching out for help with issues. Listen now: https://t.co/L9QY8Byxt8”
As much as I miss the pod, it might be a min before I get back on it. Between mental health blocking me and stress over a new job, and being broke, I'm needing to not pay for my host and a few other things pod related. I'll be back as soon as I can!
How's everyone's Monday going?
Today is Worldwide Bipolar Day. Reach out to those you know living with Bipolar disorder and let them know they are loved.
If you want information about Bipolar disorder and understand there is a book I read, and also asked some family members to read that I think is a great help to understanding called An Unquiet Mind by Kay Redfield. She is someone living with Bipolar disorder who is also a mental health care professional, so she has insight into both living with and treating this disorder.
(This is not a paid ad. We get nothing for promoting her book.)
For other resources check out World Bipolar Day.
PS - we have a new episode coming on Thursday for you!
