What's all this then? Months of silence, then 2 posts in the space of 24 hours? Big news though...

I am pleased to report that the Soul Flip Bandcamp page is back open for business! Not only that, but I have restocked it with some older releases that have been out of stock for a very long time indeed. FYI these are from my own private stash, are the very last (mint) copies in existence, and are therefore priced accordingly. Our Bandcamp page has also been upgraded to "enhanced payments" which means you can now use credit, debit or gift cards rather than just Paypal.

There were some administrative errors (not mine!) that led to us having massive overstocks on some releases, so some titles have been reduced to clear, to hopefully make space on the shelves for future releases. My aim is to have them come around much more regularly in future.

For some of the older I titles I only have a single copy left, so don't hang about! (The last copy of FLIP-001 went within seconds of me just posting it!)

As wise man once say, it's been a long time. In fact it's been so long that I don't suppose many of you will even see this post. Sorry about that.

It's been a complicated start to 2024. My dad passed away in January, then I got COVID, Jurgen Klopp announced his departure, then my mum passed away, and I got COVID again! I've certainly had better starts to the year.

In other news Aldo Vanucci has moved on to pursue his interest in battle weaponry, so props to him for getting the Soul Flip project off the ground in the first place & I wish him the best of luck with his future endeavours. Shout out to Dom Servini as well for helping us with "proof of concept" all those years ago.

Fear not though, Flip fans, the show must and will go on! I'm just getting everything ready for the next Soul Flip release & I'm looking forward to sharing some more specific news about that in due course.

Last week, Smoove and Turrell took the Northern Coal Experience to Stratford & previewed one of the cuts on our forthcoming release. As always, it's well worth a listen.

Smoove and his side kick Mr John Turrell, present The Northern Coal Experience with some incredible music, ranging from Hip Hop, Breaks, Disco, House, Funk & Soul and everything in between - all interspersed with a certain 'Northern' sense of humour!

Sorry we've been a bit quiet. We generally don't clutter your news feeds unless we have something important to say. We'd be hoping to tell you a bit more about our forthcoming release by now, but manufacturing is currently taking a fair old while & that is beyond our control. We hope to have more news soon.

Have you noticed how the cost of pretty much everything is going up? We're really proud of the fact that at least one exception has been our releases, which have stayed the same price since our Bandcamp launch several years ago.

One of the key reasons we have *just about* been able to absorb the increased production costs without passing them onto our customers is the fact that so many of you now support us by buying directly via our Bandcamp page. We're hugely thankful for that.

The EU is a massive market for us. However, since Brexit, shipping orders to EU countries has been something of a lottery. While some are getting through just like they used to, other parcels can sometimes:

Take months to arrive
Have customs fees to pay on delivery
Get returned to us weeks or months later without explanation

So it's hard to know at what point to accept that an order isn't going to arrive when a customer in an EU country says that they haven't received it a month after we shipped it. In most cases it will get there eventually, but it might end up getting returned to us. Sending a single replacement to an EU country (and so paying the postage twice) not only eliminates an already slender profit margin; we actually end up losing money. We *could* manipulate our shipping fees to cover this additional expense, but choose not to.

So it's just as well we're not in it for the "money" really. ;)

We're now asking Bandcamp customers in EU countries to please wait for 3 months before reporting an item as not received, at which point we'll immediately send a replacement or issue a full refund. We know that's a long time, but some deliveries have taken even longer than that to either arrive or get returned to us. I think it's worth pointing out though, that in all the time we've been doing this, we haven't "lost" a single parcel yet.

In light of this, if our EU customers decide to source our releases from somewhere more local, convenient or reliable, we absolutely understand. We are working hard behind the scenes to increase our availability, especially with resellers in the EU.
