This one’s for the hardworking 1ACs, pullers and techs: Shimless backfocus adjustment is a new and unique concept for Adapta LC and its new stablemate Adapta v2.
Accurate backfocus is critical when working with PL lenses, yet very few cameras provide a practical way to make an adjustment despite lens adapters being a common feature of a rig. In the case of the relatively few lenses with user adjustable backfocus it’s all too easy to adjust it by mistake.
KipperTie’s shimless system employs the best of both approaches: backfocus is fully locked with robust screw fasteners, but when loosened they allow a precision ring to be rotated, allowing fl**ge depth correction without repeated shim installation, stacks of fragile components or limitations due to available shim thicknesses.
The backfocus you can trust the most is the one you set yourself, without compromise.
