I know you've heard this statement before, many times even, and yes I am saying it right now. Trust the process.

One of the biggest lessons I have learnt in life that I don't think anything can change is the fact that in life you must follow a process.

When a goal looks too good to be true for me, I find it hard to accept or go with it. Someone might say, oh, so you mean if it is not tough then it is not worth it?

No, that is not the point. Process doesn't necessarily have to be tough or draining, sometimes process means all those times you spend learning new stuff waiting for your time or building your opportunity

Process teaches you patience, prepares you for excellence and helps you stand tall and confident when push comes to shove.

Whatever goal you have in mind, it can happen and it will happen, however, be patient, trust the process and follow the process.

There are certain unspoken rules for women when it comes to fashion especially in Nigeria.

These unspoken rules include:

-How to wear a wrapper

and

-How to tie gele.

If as a young woman you wear a wrapper and you find yourself in the midst of older women, the first thing they will check is to see if you can walk properly with the wrapper, and the second thing they will check is to see if the back flap is in alignment with the Hem of the wrapper.

Oh I forgot, they also check the direction where you placed the knot or fold (Igbo style)

Customarily, the knot and fold should be on the right.

They are not outright written laws, but if you've been to a traditional meeting or gathering with elderly women around, the comments always revolve around these 3 factors.

And if I am to be honest, a major reason why I do not wear wrappers and gele often is because of that slight feeling of embarrassment when I have to be corrected by an elderly woman or when I am called closer so that they can fix my wrapper (embarrassing much🙄, plus, I actually have a story about a time I fell over and almost hit my face on the floor while wearing wrapper and trying to pass the gate to my hostel in school on my way to church. Story for another day, it was embarrassing 🥺🥺🥺)

Anyways, it is with great pleasure that I Stephanie Ugokwe did the wrapper and gele thingy yesterday without anybody's help or correction. I walked without falling, and the wrapper was firm, plus the gele came out looking like the iya Sikira signature gele style (market women leader, if you know you know)

So far so good, I have learnt to manage clients and still be able to do good work, and there is one secret I have discovered about content creation.

Due to laziness or procrastination I am tempted to make all my content on a Sunday or Saturday, or each day.

However, I have found out that when I settle down and make the content for the full month in bulk, I have more ideas, a well-defined road map and I will always remember special days that fit into the calendar 📅.

Is it just me or is it common with other content creators?

It is officially the start of the work year for me.

During my holiday, I took out time to reflect on the past year, and one thing stood out for me.

Last year, I had no plans, I was just winging everything, but in the process of winging everything, I realized that so many good things happened.

I am grateful to God for the opportunities, plus the grace to be dedicated (cos without the Holy Spirit, I am a lazy person, NGL), and the gift of consistent hardwork over the course of 4 years that is now paying off.

However this year is a year of being INTENTIONALLY INTENTIONAL for me, and this theme covers every aspect of my life. So far so good, God has sent help.

I will leave you with these few thoughts that have been on my mind since the beginning of this year

*Ideas love speed
*Be intentional about talking to God, both as God your God and God your Father.
*Do not let work cloud your mind so much that you do not even have time for the things of God.
*Let your faith soar (Do not limit God)

When I was growing up, I had so many dreams and desires. While making those plans, I didn't include the inflation in the world, neither did I include Boko Haram, or End SARS or Covid19. There is a lot that I did not include that has played a big role in either delaying a dream or cancelling it entirely. Infact during those daydreams and plans, I made it look like I would be on this Earth forever.

But Ladies and gentlemen, forever on earth is the biggest lie anyone will ever sell to you. Do not fall for it!

So many things are happening right now and all I keep saying to myself is that Jesus is coming back.

To be honest, it makes me regret so many decisions I took when I was in a bad place that affected my relationship with God. But that is one thing that makes God really different from man. He forgives, tells you to abandon guilt, and expects you to strive to live holy (as Paul said, "Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? And the answer is No)

The truth is that Christ is coming soon, and the signs are everywhere. The signs include being too busy for the things of God, conspiracy theories, evil acts against people, weird inventions that don't make sense, pestilence, famine, people committing apostasy (renouncing God) etc. Should you be afraid? Nope. This is not the time to be afraid. Instead it is a time to be intentional about choosing God and his ways. It is a time to reevaluate certain lifestyles and make several U-turns.

And the best time to start is now, the beginning of a new month, a new day, and a new opportunity. My biggest prayer for anyone who reads this message is that whatever burden or load that makes you feel heavy and distracted from starting your journey be taken away. Happy new month, I hope you win.

Yesterday's black out made me realize that we are all living a fast life.

There is this thing I do where I sit down and write my thoughts down then I begin to connect the dots as to why I may be feeling a certain way.

A friend of mine called it self-therapy. I guess it is.

Life in general is fast, whew! Like so fast. There are so many things fighting for our attention, and if you don't have boundaries, you will see yourself running in several directions at once.

I wish I have the words to explain the result of doing too many things at the same time. Overwhelmed doesn't truly cut it because the relief you feel when you quit doing too many things at the same time is priceless.

All I want to say? Just take life easy.

One thing that I am really trying to do is to seperate myself from my work.

I opened a diary I had a few years ago and I remember asking myself what are my life values?

I saw in another diary from this year that I asked myself the same question and my answer was the same.

"I WANT TO TREAT OTHERS AS I WOULD WANT THEM TO TREAT ME"

And I said to myself "even without referring to past write-ups, this is what you always aspire to be".

And you know the problem I have with it? I always expect the same from people and I 80 times out of 100 I get disappointed.

Can I change this value? If I do, I will feel like a fraud, but I am happy for sound teachings and some podcasts from that has helped me realize that people's reactions should not stop me from being what I strongly believe in.

Managing black tax. These 3 steps should help.

1. In your budget, set a cap for the black tax and stick to it. How do you stick to it? Pay yourself first and place your savings and investments in locked accounts.

2. Set a necessity test, one that will guide what you spend the black tax on. Items should border around survival needs — feeding, housing, schooling and health.

3. Learn to say “no”. This is probably one of the most potent tools for preventing unplanned spending. If it isn’t a case that is a life-threatening one and doesn’t pass your budget or necessity test, kindly turn down the request. Saying no is a lot easier when you have first suggestion sorted.

A choice to manage the black tax will not only help you do better with your savings and build wealth, but it will also prevent you from becoming dependent on your children when you get older also. Do them a favour by making the right choices today

I had a bad case of burnout that I just recovered from on Monday and I remember my friend said that I should do RndR.

I told him, that I'd I go to a coworking space so that I could finish the tasks that looked like roadblocks to me.

And he was like, you would end up just watching movies all day, and boy?! It was the truth.

I had a conversation with .by.charles last night and he asked me "what are you ready to sacrifice?" And it dawned on me that sacrifices have to be made even when certain things attain your criteria and they are not totally perfect.

There is a thin line between hate, disgust and loathing.

I am not a fan of watching the news, because if I am being honest, I believe that every (bad,)news reported is ochestrated by the people in power. It is like doing something bad, then reporting the bad thing you did, with the sole aim of programming people to do your bidding. We live in a world with so much manipulation and wickedness and there is a thin line between hate, disgust and loathing people because of the news you hear.

But God's word is sure. He gives us peace that surpasses human understanding. These days, in the midst of all wickedness and evil, I turn to God's word and it helps. When I mean it helps, I mean A LOT.

I want to stay creative and happy, God's word, and avoiding the news are my best bets. How are you holding up?

Let's say you were given a brief to write about a business page, and it turns out the business page is only on IG. Let's also say that all the Logo pictures on Google are blurry (brands should do better🙄🙄🙄) and you need something decent and neat but you can only find it on Instagram, what do you do?

Instagram doesn't let you download display pictures, so the best thing to use is Instadp.

Yes, there is an app that lets you download the resolution of a Display picture in a clean way. It is a web app.

First input the account handle correctly, it will show up, scroll down a bit and you will see the icon full size, allows you to choose the size you want to download. Scroll down to the bottom of the picture and click on download and it goes straight to your phone.

While preparing to go to a funeral sometime in May, I stumbled upon this tweet (next slide) that I had to screenshot. That was about 5am or so. The tweet said I should go back to the book that was the turning point for me.

While riding solemnly at the passenger's seat behind the driver, I kept trying to picture and remember the title of the book that helped to change my perspective in 2015. It took me quite some time to remember, but I remembered.

The power of focus is the name of the book. And it is one you should really get. Helped me out big time especially in the area of delegating and compartmentalizing.

This is a gratitude plus manifestation post or something that sounds like this.

I have been in this work-from-home business since 2017, and it has only been better. Not easy, but better.

would say "Treat yourself like a client". I am doing that and I will do that!

(I will keep referring to this post because it was a light bulb moment for me)

As part of treating myself as a client, (I am speaking this into existence.)

I am getting my own workstation soon, and creating my home office. (Says the girl typing this post in the dark, on her tab, while sitting astride legged on her bed at 5am).

There are many benefits of creating a home office, the most important however is your back. If you don't want to complain often about your back, get a home office and a chair (note to self)

When it happens, I may or may not share the pictures😁. Do you have any tips about getting items for my office? Could use some.

I can't tell if I am the best at being patient with everything.

Sometimes I am like a duck waddling furiously under water while maintaining an unfazed poise, other days I am really losing it (Like literally)

I am more of scenario A 80% of the time and scenario b 20% of the time. It wasn't always this way until I had this light bulb moment some months ago.

Let's say Mr A comes into a motel without water supply and the night before he was told that the water supplier will come around 9am. And let's also say that Mr.A has an engagement around 9:45am. If you were in Mr A's shoes, what would your reaction be?

Slight Panic, fear, etc.

But Mr A goes into his room, enters his bathroom and turns on the tap just to be certain about the water issue. Instead of a totally empty tap, he sees droplets of water. Mr A isn't the only guest that has done this, every other guest sees the water droplets and assumes that there is no water.

Mr A on the other hand takes a bucket, leaves it under the tap and goes to sleep. By ,6am in the morning, he goes back to check. He is rewarded with half a bucket of water. He is better than every other person stuck in the motel waiting till 9 for water to arrive and he has a head start.

When someone gave me this illustration, it was a transforming light bulb moment for me. And every time I worry about certain things, I remind myself that the little actions I take are like water droplets that would accumulate into a half or full bucket.

You may or may not materialize the perfect life picture you've envisioned for yourself. While waiting to get there, what steps (No matter how small) are you taking?

Today's post is about Late adoption.

People who know me from childhood know how much I don't like fluff.

I disliked makeup, being extra with my dressing and fixing nails. Apart from "religious laws" then, I just disliked discomfort.

My sister tried so hard to make me do these things, my friend too, but it took almost 5-6 years before I tried them out and got comfortable with them. And the funny thing is that I can't believe I am looking forward to my next nail appointment.

The same goes with marketing. There are certain items you might have to sell, and people will make enquiries but never end up buying. Does that mean that you've wasted your efforts and time? No.

During one of our extension classes at the University, we were taught about the three classes of people in the adoption process. You have the Early adopters, the Late adopters, and those who avoid new inventions totally. Such people exist in the marketing sphere.

Those who quickly buy a product, those who take time before they make their first purchase and those who totally avoid it. The effort put in to get the second set of people may be seen as a waste at first. To me, it isn't, all you need to do is retarget or remodel your message to gain their attention.

I am a late adopter if I am being truthful and I am changing Sha. *See the second slide, it is the skin for me. Ignore the cuticles, yet to apply nail oil* 😋😋😋

So I am trying out this new thing where I consciously want to put myself in a place I desire through habits.

I started out with reading because I found out that my reading culture had dropped drastically since entering the university.

I started working out because last year I was always sick, and I had the most unhealthy toxic relationship with food (yes you saw unhealthy and toxic, I did that)

I started trying out new skills just because I wanted to create happy spaces for myself and ensure that I did something I haven't done in a long time.

I became more deliberate about my faith and meditation.

Do I have tangible big results? I might make announcements sometime in the future. But do I feel different? Most definitely.

Habits? Let's see how it goes. Hi Monday, here we go again.

Oh did I get your attention with 'em shoes? 😊 They are pretty, I know. I am a shoe person and I love good shoes. That being said...

So I think I may have lost my childhood spark and honestly it doesn't bother me. They say time and things change you, I agree and it is fascinating because whenever I open my diaries, I keep asking myself, "what were you thinking?"😆😆😆

My diary is filled with big lofty dreams, that I have sort of accomplished, but the unaccomplished parts leave me guilt. One thing I finally concluded within myself is that if I force myself to meet up with those past dreams, I won't have room for the things I am doing now.

All in all, I appreciate where I am today, a lot has happened, I am living something similar to my childhood fantasies and dreams, and all I can say is that growth is good. Give yourself room to grow...

I have been off social media for a while. Focused more on hiding, and trying to get stuff done.
It's been this way since May, till a friend reached out to me and told me to register for the digify training. He ended the call with "it will stretch you". In my mind, I was like how dificult can it get? It's been a combination of bitter sweet emotions, but I have learned a lot. I have learnt about strategy, creating briefs, carrying out research, presenting finished projects and basically doing stuff I never knew could be really tasking.

That being said... There is a popular saying that goes thus "To whom much is given, much is expected". It is time to take resposnsibility and act on everything I have been taught.
