I RAIKINAS sono un gruppo stoner/heavy/Psych , formatosi a Ossi (Sardegna) nel 2008.
Nell'estate 2011 i due fondatori della band, Marco Nieddu (basso) e Gabriele Fancellu (batteria), dopo l’alternarsi di varie formazioni, si ritrovano in studio assieme ad Antonio Pilo (chitarra) e decidono per far ripartire il progetto lasciato in sospeso un anno prima, iniziando a comporre i primi pezzi intraprendendo un nuovo corso musicale e reclutando Alfredo Farina come secondo chitarrista. Subito dopo viene chiamato a far parte della band Alfredo Carboni, alla voce.
Comincia così il cammino verso la registrazione del primo full lenght della band, dal titolo “Like a Monkey”, registrato da Cristian Scarponi (Necrodeath, Cadaveria). L’album mischia sonorità metal e crossover a strutture stoner e sludge.
A giugno 2012, il chitarrista Alfredo Farina abbandona la band e i Raikinas continuano in formazione a 4 elementi
l’album è prodotto da “Art Eifel e.v.” (Germania) e viene pubblicato dai Raikinas nell’agosto 2012. Qualche mese dopo i la band realizza anche il videoclip della canzone "Under the Flowers", contenuta nell’album stesso.
La band continua a suonare in Sardegna e organizza un minitour in Germania di 7 date toccando le città di Köln, Aremberg, Euskirchen e Kall con buon consenso di pubblico.
Dall’estate 2012 all’autunno 2013 i quattro lavorano su nuovi pezzi e sul sound della band. Il nuovo corso dei Raikinas li vede caratterizzati da sonorità molto più calde e sature: spariscono le sonorità metal e crossover che avevano caratterizzato il primo periodo della band e il primo disco, a favore di suono molto più heavy rock e stoner e con influenze psichedeliche. Nel Dicembre 2013 i Raikinas incidono 11 nuovi brani, che andranno a comporre il loro secondo lavoro, che si intitolerà (T)R.I.P. e partono di nuovo per 2 brevi tour in Germania e nel nord Italia.
Nel 2016 la band registra Arcadia,il loro 3° album,stampato in blue vinyl e cd.
I Raikinas collaborano con diverse band del panorama musicale sardo ma non solo, ci sono anche collaborazioni con band rock e stoner del resto d’Italia e d’Europa (Dirt Deflector, Far Away Town, Black Wings of Destiny, Spacelords,Yawning man,Karma To Burn,Black Rainbows, Rinho Bucket,etc. ..)

RAIKINAS are a stoner / heavy / Psych band, formed in Ossi (Sardinia) in 2008.
In summer 2011, after various formations, the two founders of the band, Marco Nieddu (bass) and Gabriele Fancellu (drums), found themselves alongside Antonio Pilo (guitar) in the studio and decided to restart their project that had been on hold for a year. The new compositions saw the band pursue a new musical course and Alfredo Farina was recruited as a second guitarist. Shortly afterwards, Alfredo Carboni was invited to join the band on vocals.
Thus began the road towards the band recording their first full length album, titled "Like a Monkey", recorded by Cristian Scarponi (Necrodeath, Cadaveria). The album is a blend of metal and crossover with stoner and sludge structures.
In June 2012, guitarist Alfredo Farina left the band and Raikinas decided to march onwards with their 4 member line-up.
The album was produced by "Art Eifel e.v." (Germany) and was released by Raikinas in August 2012. A few months after, the band also made a music video of "Under the Flowers", taken from the album.
The band continued to play in Sardinia and organized a mini-tour in Germany with 7 dates passing through the cities of Cologne, Aremberg, Euskirchen and Kall and they received great public approval.
Between summer 2012 and autumn 2013, the four members worked on new tracks and revised the band's sound. Raikinas' new path sees them characterized by a much warmer and more saturated sound: the metal and crossover sound that characterized the first period of the band and the first album have dissolved in favour of a more heavy rock and stoner sound with psychedelic influences. In December 2013, Raikinas etched 11 new songs that will go towards their second album, (T)R.I.P. and fly again for 2 small tours in Germany and northern Italy.
In 2016 the band records Arcadia the 3rd album, printed on blue vinyl and cd.
Raikinas have collaborated with several bands from the Sardinian music scene and have also done collaborations with rock and stoner bands throughout Italy and across Europe (Dirt Deflector, Far Away Town, Black Wings of Destiny,Spacelords,Yawning man,Karma To Burn,Black Rainbows, Rinho Bucket,etc. ..)
