I woke up this morning to a message from a guy sending me this picture…
It’s from an episode of Big Brother back in the early 2000s, but look at the sign on the left hand side!
Myself and James Bassam who I was working with at Essex FM at the time had made a comment about seeing if anyone could smuggle in a sign to the Big Brother live evictions to promote the radio show on the telly… and these brilliant nutcases actually did… For three weeks on the trot before security rumbled them and threw them out!

Back in the early 00’s when I was at Essex FM I got roped into hosting the 2SMART roadshow for a few years.
It was a project that Essex FM and Essex police had put together.
For two or three months each year we toured all over Essex and did a show for thousands of school kids, Who as you can hear from this video were very quiet throughout… we even got McFly involved at one point.
The point of the show was to warn Kids about the dangers of drugs, knives, alcohol and antisocial behaviour.
It really was one of the best things I have ever done in my radio career, and people still talk to me about the shows all these years on (making me feel ridiculously old!)
