““I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven. “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭

“Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭

I had fun plans today but woke up with a killer headache that would not go away. Not sure if changes in my eating habits caused it or just the fact that sometimes our bodies revolt. Whatever it was, I had to sadly cancel plans. After pushing through to make sure my kids got their school day in, (the joy of homeschooling is the teacher can’t call out sick.) I decided I should try to add movement to my day. As a friend just said “Movement always helps. Even if it’s hard to get the motivation to do it.” And it did indeed help. I still don’t feel 100% but I feel better. Between spending time with Jesus and moving my body, I have found relief. So, this my friend is your reminder to pull out your Bible, journal a prayer and then find a way to add movement to your day - especially if you aren’t feeling your best! With Jesus and our community to encourage and build us up, we got this!!

“Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭86‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭

This is something we should start praying daily. There are so many “truths” going around and the saying “find your truth” is one that is uttered frequently. The fact of the matter is there is but one truth. You can believe all you want in all the worldly things, but those do not bring life, fulfillment and salvation. They typically bring depression, heartache and death. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life.” He is the only truth - his word is solid and trustworthy. It brings life and joy in the midst of sorrows. Yes, it is counter cultural but I can promise you, it’s a better truth than anything this world has to offer.

As believers, we need to pray this Psalm daily so that we are not blinded by the things of this world. It’s easy to want to believe the best in others and to want to follow their words because in the moment, they sound more loving. However, if they do not line up with scripture, they are harmful in the long term. In this day, we must stand for absolute truth and seek the wisdom and knowledge that the Holy Spirit gives. You aren’t in this alone. I am cheering you on and all you have to do is ask and I will pray along side of you that you will receive Godly wisdom and Holy Spirit guidance. Let’s go out and change the world together!

We have a bunch of new faces around here, so I figured I would introduce myself! I am Brittany - a wife, mama, podcaster and author from Eastern NC. I just release a book for couples called Pray Together, so podcasting has taken a little bit of a back burner since I am a one woman show.
Here are 5 random facts about myself.
1. Coffee is my love language. I will drink it hot or iced year round.
2. Books make me happy! I love reading and it’s typically how I destress.
3. I have had to go 100% gluten free since 2019. It’s not just a little intolerance but a pretty significant allergy. Figuring out how to make baked goods taste amazing has been fun for me.
4. I am not an animal person but I have a 2 1/2 year old beta fish named Pete that makes me happy!
5. Fresh flowers bring so much joy! I try to keep a small vase of them on my counter and you can often catch me standing and staring or just breathing in their scent.I would love to get to know you too! Please leave a comment and tell me a little bit about yourself!! 🙂

I just got to hold MY BOOK! It’s a surreal moment. I put those words on paper and now it’s bound and others get to read them. Dream. Come. True!

I was testing out places to record one afternoon and the kids decided I was playing hide and seek. I decided to let them play around with recording. That produced the cutest outro ever recorded (in my opinion).

SHAME - it’s a 5 letter word that carries so much power - and not in a good way. My workout instructor yesterday kept saying “shame off you!” and I have thought about that phrase ever since.

Shame is Satan’s play ground. If he can make us feel ashamed of ourselves, then he can separate us more and more from Christ. Romans 8:1 says “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Galatians 5:1 says “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery.”

Steps to take to get shame off:
1. Confess your sins to a trusted, Christ following believer and to Christ himself.
2. Ask them to hold you accountable so that you do not easily fall back into old sins
3. Walk in the freedom of Christ. Know that everyone screws up, but do not go out seeking to continue in sin.

**Christians** If someone confesses to you, hold no judgement against them. Instead, walk them through forgiveness. GALATIANS 6:1 says “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.”

I recorded this video on Tuesday for my college students (hence the intro that might not make sense). Over the last couple of days, I kept feeling like I needed to share it with you. So, here is what the Lord shared with me while studying Galatians 1 on Tuesday morning.

Guess who is back tomorrow morning!!! It’s been too long and it may be a bit sporadic over the holidays, but this message was pressed on me to get it out ASAP! This may be one of my most important episodes. This one means a lot to me. We talk about forms of Christianity that are damaging but we end with talking about freedom. Freedom that is found in a relationship with Christ. Will you join me in listening to this episode?

As a Christ follower, I’m sure you have discovered having connections with people you typically would not have anything in common with. We are part of one body and therefore immediately can find connection because of that fact. That does not mean that you have to be best friends with everyone. It just means that you have one thing in common. One big thing that will unite us in a way that the world would not understand.

Let me tell you that not a single thing that I do would be possible if I didn’t have this man’s love and support? He cheers me on and doesn’t balk when I say “I feel the Holy Spirit calling me to...” or “I have to go upstairs and record tonight.” He just gives me a kiss, declares truth over my calling and then he helps in practical ways. This morning, I lost track of time typing away at my computer. Instead of getting annoyed, he fed the kids breakfast, made me an omelet and left a few minutes late for work. He is such a gift from God!!

In this week’s episode we are talking about worship - not the Sunday morning kind of worship where we sing a bunch of songs and we raise our hands. But, the kind of worship that is declared through every one of our actions and our words. The worship where we focus on everything that God has given us and every action that we have to take and then we choose to worship through all of our every day activities.

Episode 32 is out today!! If you haven’t already, you should go listen. It’s only 17 minutes long!

—————————

Today, we are talking about worship. When you think of worship, what comes to mind? Most of us immediately think to singing songs in a group of people on Sunday mornings. But, what if there was way more to worship than that? What if God was calling us to worship with all that we have and all that we do? Listen to the podcast, then come back and let’s start a discussion.
