Au début des années 70, la planète danse sur son de la musique DISCO, une onde de choc à 125 BPM. Quelques années plus t**d, le Disco, jugé trop commercial, tombe en désuétude et le Funk, qui existait depuis le début des années 70 avec les premiers concerts de Earth, Wind & Fire et Kool & The Gang, devient mode et le BPM chute de 125 à 115 Le Funk a donné naissance au Rap puis à l'Acid-Jazz au début des années 90. Dans le même temps, Daft Punk a ré-accéléré le tempo à 125 avec French House, un mélange de sons funk et disco classiques à d'autres sons plus innovants et rafraîchissants. A la même époque, les Anglais du Ministry of Sound créent la Funky House, musique dans laquelle la mélodie est plus importante qu'en house et l'instrumentation acoustique, comme le piano, les voix et le saxophone beaucoup plus présente. Funky House utilise également des synthétiseurs et des échantillons enregistrés de classiques des années 1970, ou de nouvelles phrases musicales rappelant ces années.
Avec ses clins d'œil au funk et au disco, ses mélodies, ses voix et l'esthétique moderne de sa production, la Funky House est la digne héritière de DISCO.
La FunkyHouse est irresistible : quand le DJ joue, on danse. On ne peut pas faire autrement !

At first, there is Jazz, then Blues, then Soul Music, and finally DISCO.
It's the end of the 70s. The sound of dance music creates a shock wave that makes the planet dance at 125 BPM. A few years later, Disco, considered too commercial, fell into disuse and Funk, which had existed since the early 70s with the first concerts of Earth, Wind & Fire and Kool & The Gang, became mode and the BPM fell from 125 to 115. Genre assez mal défini, la funky house suit, comme la plupart des variantes de la house, un rythme à quatre temps. Le BPM est souvent proche de 125 battements par minute. Le rôle de la mélodie est plus important que dans la house. Celui de la basse rapproche le genre de la French touch.
L'instrumentation fait un usage massif des synthétiseurs, des échantillons enregistrés de classiques des années 1970, ou de nouvelles phrases musicales rappelant ces années, et des chansons sentimentales. Cependant, à la différence des musiques deep house et house de Chicago, plus orientées vers l'électronique, la présence d'une instrumentation acoustique, comme le piano, les voix et le saxophone, est plus fréquente.
