Following a co***ne and booze-fuelled jaunt to a lap dancing club on Earth, God is accidentally killed in a London Hotel. His death triggers a fire that endangers the laptop he brought with him; The Machine that runs the Universe.
With no one to protect it, the laptop is forced to shut down. Reality grinds to a halt. Time, space, and physics are paralysed. The living become Statues.
As part of the computer's rescue programme, one hundred Londoners find themselves immune to the Freeze. Unfortunately, they are the wrong one hundred. Amongst their number are hit men, con artists, fantasists, thieves and child psychopaths. People, like ex-wrestler and enforcer, The Steak. People like Emma, a party crazed sw***er. People like alcoholic lowlife Andrew Eddings.
Their lives are knocked off-kilter as they adventure their way through this frozen, post-apocalyptic landscape.
Looting abounds. Dark fantasies are indulged. As the survivors begin to find each other, factions form: The Good Deeds Committee and the Wolves, as they prepare to battle for control of the Laptop.
