PASIG CITY EXTENDS ₱5.5 MILLION AID TO AREAS HIT BY TYPHOONS AND EARTHQUAKE
The Pasig City Government has approved the release of ₱5.5 million in financial assistance to several local government units (LGUs) affected by Tropical Cyclones Nando and Opong, as well as the magnitude 6.9 earthquake in Cebu, under City Resolution No. 83-12, Series of 2025.
The measure, adopted by the 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Pasig City, affirms the Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) Resolution No. 3, Series of 2025, authorizing aid drawn from the Pasig City DRRM Fund 2025 – Quick Response Fund.
The beneficiaries are as follows:
• Municipal Government of Calayan – ₱500,000
• Provincial Government of Masbate – ₱1,000,000
• Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro – ₱1,000,000
• Provincial Government of Cebu – ₱2,000,000
• City Government of Bogo – ₱1,000,000
The Pasig City Public Information Office (PIO) announced on October 9 that financial assistance has already been turned over to the Provinces of Cebu and Oriental Mindoro.
Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro received the ₱2-million assistance from a Pasig City delegation led by Councilors Warren Inocencio, Volta Delos Santos, and Buboy Agustin, all members of the 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod's Committee on Disaster Resilience.
In Oriental Mindoro, Mayor Vico Sotto personally handed the ₱1-million assistance to Governor Bonz Dolor and First Lady Hiyas Govinda Dolor.
According to the PIO, both provinces also received Emergency Go Bags, while a 25-member Pasig deployment team in Cebu concluded its operations, which included psychosocial first aid, medical assessment, and infrastructure audit for quake-hit communities.
Pasig City officials expressed their gratitude to all personnel who joined the mission and to those who supported the city's relief operations.
