On a seemingly normal Monday morning in 1974, a 29-year-old news reporter Christine Chubbuck became the first person in recorded history to complete s****de live on broadcast television.

Her last words were:

"...in keeping with Channel 40's policy of bringing you the latest in blood and guts and in living color, we bring you another first — an attempted s******e."

She then produced a .38 caliber pistol, placed it to her head, and pulled the trigger.

This is the story of Christine Chubbuck.

He compares the mind to a block of wax, where experiences and perceptions leave impressions, much like a seal makes a mark on wax. The quality and nature of these impressions depend on the properties of the wax and the clarity of the experience.

# # # Key Aspects of the Wax Tablet Analogy:

1. **Variety of Wax**: Socrates suggests that people have different kinds of “wax” in their minds. For some, the wax might be pure and deep, making impressions clear and long-lasting. For others, it might be muddy or shallow, causing impressions to be unclear and easily erased. This reflects the differences in people’s ability to remember and understand experiences.

2. **Retention of Knowledge**: The analogy illustrates how memories (the impressions on the wax) can fade or become distorted over time. A strong impression represents clear and reliable knowledge, while a faint or blurred impression signifies weak or unreliable memory.

It’s usually a supporter exclusive monthly series. But I wanted to give everyone a little taste of what to expect. Nine more full episodes are streaming on patreon if you want more. They’re all one-offs on various different cases.

Bart and Krista's lifeless bodies are sprawled across the cold cement floor. Various blood soaked tools are strewn about the room. Hedge clippers, scissors, a keyhole saw, a hacksaw, and an axe.

The air is thick with death and desperation.

Chandler is bent over his father's half naked body, hacksaw in hand, as he begins the slow and methodical process of sawing through both of Bart's femurs.

The ridges of the blade begin their incision into the bone, then halt abruptly, leaving a clue. One that would tell investigators exactly what tools Chandler used that night. The very same tools that police would later find inside a rusty oil barrel on Crescent L'sai's farm.
