The journal is published per article and covers all areas of the subject such as ocean acidification, pesticides use and regulation, arsenic induced genotoxicity by curcumin, heavy metals and its environmental effect. Man depends heavily on pesticides to boost his agricultural productions. This study aimed at carrying out a risk assessment of pesticide residues in samples of beans stored and sold in Wukari Town, Nigeria. Different samples of beans were collected randomly from different market points within Wukari, Rafin kada and Idofi.

Bioaccumulation of heavy metals in mangoes (Mangifera indica L.) found in the vicinity of gold mining sites of Zamfara State, Nigeria

The impact of gold mining on mango (Mangifera indica L.) grown in the vicinity of gold mining sites in Zamfara State, Nigeria have been assessed over the dry and wet seasons. Samples of mango plant parts were collected from 3 impacted sites and a control site monthly between March and August 2014, and analysed for selected heavy metals using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer.

The study was therefore initiated to evaluate the physicochemical and heavy metal contents of boreholes and well water sources in Bantaji and Rafin-Kada settlements of Wukari Local Government Area in a bid to establish the quality of these water sources available to the community for consumption and other domestic and agricultural activities.

Sorption mechanisms of Chromium(III), Copper(II) and Lead(II) on two natural mixed clays from Burkina Faso as determined by extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectroscopy.

This study investigates the local structural environment of Cr3+, Cu2+, Pb2+ ions sorbed on natural clay surfaces KOR and SIT without any pretreatment as function of pH using EXAFS to deduce the mechanism of the sorption process.
