I’m leading a cinematography workshop with next Monday Dec 19th. If you’re a rising filmmaker interested in upgrading your cinematography skills, this is for you!

Join us for this in-person workshop at NOVAC on December 19th from 6-9 PM.

One of the first things students are taught in film school is the purpose of the basic types of camera shots. This common language is essential for writers, directors, camera operators, and cinematographers to effectively communicate visual elements of a shot, particularly the size of a subject—often a person—within the frame.

This workshop will cover the essential shot types that you should get to know and when/how these shot types are used.

* Using a one scene script, the workshop participants will work together to execute a shot list and discuss why you would choose certain shot options for each script.
* This course will be hands-on! We will be reviewing camera basics. Bring your camera if you have one!

31.

I dedicate this birthday to all the Katrina Babies still struggling to find direction and support in their lives and especially to those we’ve lost to senseless violence or to a jail cell. It’s our duty to tell their stories.

If you want to give me anything, please donate to my non-profit so we can continue empowering the next generation of storytellers in our community.

I’m sure the Emmett Till movie will be wonderful, but I will respectfully pass.

Long Live

Storytellers are more important than ever but fewer and fewer people are allowed to share their voice with the world. My lil homie Shane was a storyteller but the evil in this city silenced his voice forever. Who’s gonna tell his story? Who’s going to take his place and tell stories about black boys in New Orleans?

Thank you to for allowing me to share a little of my experience with this phenomenal young black man.

This Giving Tuesday, support our mission of empowering young storytellers in New Orleans.

• Check out our page and visit our website www.ledenola.org to learn more about the amazing work we’re doing in our community.

• Anything helps. If we reach our goal of $3000, we can fully fund the training and mentorship of a young person in our community.

• Spread the word! We need your support in sharing our message with your network.

• Storytelling matters and who is telling our stories matters just as much.
