Scientists at the University of Technology Sydney have developed the world’s first portable mind-reading AI, translating brainwaves into readable text using a sensor-covered helmet.

The system aims to revolutionize communication for individuals impaired by stroke or paralysis, providing a non-invasive solution.

The team conducted experiments with 29 participants, displaying sentences on a screen for them to think about, with the AI translating their brainwaves into text.

The technology opens possibilities for seamless control of devices, such as bionic limbs and robots, through mental commands. The researchers are working to improve the translation accuracy, currently around 40%.
