Hi everyone! We're excited to announce that our editor-in-chief is going to be writing an article for Gamers Against Bigotry detailing the rise of humble bundles/steam sales/name-your-price/F2P revolution as a godsend to gamers on a budget.

(especially LGBTQ gamers that might have been kicked out of their homes, etc.) For those on a tighter rope, places like Steam, Desura, and apps offer us a chance to at least play things that are current with our friends. With MMOs going free to play, that helps too.

It'll also focus on the classism/capitalistic issues with the games industry (elitism, all advertising appealing to the middle/upper class, etc.), and I'd like to also have statistics about LGBTQ youth (homelessness/unstable housing situations, etc.) to back up the 'lack of money for gaming' statement.

What are your thoughts on this?

Thank You, April Ashley!

JABR's editor in chief takes a moment to give credit where credit is due. Check out this blog post about the amazing April Ashley, thanking her for her countless contributions to the LGBTQ* community and a look into what she's doing next!

This woman is not only kind, blazingly intelligent, and caring but a forerunner for transgender rights, sex-reassignment surgery (SRS), and male-to-female (MTF) transition. She was the first Briton to undergo SRS and faced terrible complications that nearly led to her death.
