Now that Renpy released the latest update 7.4.5. on May 26, 2021, I've tested the Live2D animations on this version, since I now operate on my new Apple Macbook Pro with the M1 Processor chip. The Live2D animations work. Thank goodness. I may work on creating new visual novels under my Macbook Pro. Here's a video clip running the Live2D on a Mac.
It sucks how YouTube places their ads on my video, and yet I'm not being paid everytime an ad appears on screen. SMH. 😤
PSA for all NVIDIA graphics card users:
Renpy 7.4.4. was recently released this month that contains an update where Renpy has disabled the threaded optimization option for all NVIDIA graphic cards, including the older chipset models like the GTX 765m, etc. This would stop playing the Live2D animations completely when playing any Renpy Live2D game.
I highly recommend you stick with Renpy version 7.4.2 or earlier for those who want to stick with NVIDIA graphic card options.
On the other hand, for those with AMD graphic chipsets or Intel internal graphics cards, you should be fine.

style. This is a short story about Mark, a Live2D character,

achieve his own harem story. Turns out not everything is planned the

I finished making detailed instructions from the Renpy Live2D video tutorial of how to setup Live2D in Renpy on my website, galatragames.net. This includes step-by-step instructions to display your Live2D characters, whether you are using the FREE or PRO versions of the Live2D Cubism Editor.

Renpy.org has announced that the latest update, Renpy 7.4.2, is released. This update will recognize Live2D motions and expressions files easily without using long directory names. However, the information in the video tutorial (YT link: https://youtu.be/nbAgxfdukaY) will still apply the same for the lastest update. My first attempt in making a 2D Platformer game after following BornCG Godot Platformer Tutorials.
Platformer Game Assets used:
Hill Forest platformer tilesets were from the Humble Bundle Pack.
Character Platform Player, one with the green shirt, were from Kenny.nl under Platform Characters.
I happen to receive the same comment from that person who was having issues loading the Live2D character in either Ren'py 7.4.0 or 7.4.1. The good thing here is the code was provided on my Lemma Forum topic link, but when I tried it myself using the Live2D Cubism Pro Trial version to export the animation motion .can3 file, I had the same problem as this person had. It turns out that the latest Ren'py 7.4.0 or 7.4.1 could not read the .can3 file correctly when it comes to custom Live2D character builds. On the other hand, Ren'py can still recognize the free Live2D model versions completely. This could be a bug issue where hopefully the next Ren'py update will fix this. However, there is another way.
For those who are struggling with the same kind of issue, there is an alternative solution to post your animation motion .can3 file in Ren'py by using the movie format method. You can refer to my Lemma Forum link here: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=61180, where you can see my suggestion on the bottom of my Renpy Live2D Tutorial video. I received a comment from my Renpy Live2D Tutorial video that someone has trouble displaying their Live2D using custom models in either Renpy 7.4.0 or 7.4.1. If anyone has problems or trouble like this, please let me know. A traceback file would help. Thank you.

Since I posted the Renpy Live2D tutorial, as of today, you're welcome to ask me any questions about the functionalities about Live2D and Renpy or if you need any help in general. The only thing I will be testing on next is the sound and voicing for Renpy Live2D. That will be at a later time.

This is the official Renpy Live2D Tutorial Video of how to place
Live2D character for your next Renpy visual novel project. The video
will advise how to declare your Live2D characters and define animation
motions or expressions for Python.
The difference here is you cannot change the folder name
"Resources/..." to any different customizable name under Live2D,
unlike the background images or character folder. This is because it
follows based on Live2D's Cubism SDK Native folder organization. You
must type exactly what I described in this tutorial to make Live2D
work. Otherwise, you will receive bugs or errors.

I placed the Live 2D characters Hiyori and Hibiki together to test the screen smoothness.
At least the transform properties still works with Live2D entities.
Perhaps if this video earn enough likes, I can do a tutorial for Live 2D in Renpy, soon.

Testing the Live2D character animation display using the latest Renpy build, Renpy 7.4.0.
The newest Renpy version now supports Live2D characters and animation support.
All of the Live 2D characters seen in this demo are made from the Live 2D Cubism 'Free' version. This is to show how wonderful Renpy can display high-quality animation images in real-time for demo purposes only.
Hope this feature will be displayed in future VN projects.
Took me a whole day to figure this thing out, but now it finally works.

The Creator Define Displayable (UDD) was developed in Python script, which is located on Renpy's documentation site over here: https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/udd.html
This was supposed to be alternate version to the SnowBlossom effect, but its code seems to be outdated for Renpy's 7.3.5 version and beyond.
Character I used is the 3D Model from VRoid Studio (Pixiv) that I made for my Renpy VN game, "She's The One."
