As the founder and CEO of an award-winning book publisher, it's so important and integral to my productivity that I break my days up into dedicated time slots, during which I focus on things that fall into certain categories.

🏠In our offices, we refer to these slots as time maps, which include: (overseeing) Client Success; Product Creation (otherwise known as more book-writing and -publishing goodness); and Sales.

🛀🏼And even the much-needed Self-Care!
Today is one of two Client Success days (Tuesdays and Thursdays), and I love love love what these days entail...

It’s like anything else in your business: schedule it in, start, progress, and complete.

If your subconscious asks you to delay or procrastinate, there’s a fear, a little something burrowed away, hindering your attainment of this goal—and that requires a mindset shift.

Because, remember: time is a universal currency of which we all have an equal daily share, and it can be spent however you like. It just comes down to where you prioritise spending it…

I’m no different: CEO, mother of three, wife… I’m still assigning much of my week to the completion of my upcoming book. It’s a necessity if I want to succeed—and is tackled much like any other business-related goal or in-house task: schedule, start, progress, complete.

So my advice for you today? Block out a couple of hours each and every week, and your book will soon be done.

And if you’re being plagued by doubt and impostor-syndrome-type gremlins, you need to fix that pronto, because the power of a book in your business is just too significant to miss.

Some people aren’t the right fit for you, your energy, your goals, your vision, and your other clients…

That’s okay.

It’s okay to lovingly release and say the words, ‘I don’t believe there is an alignment here. We’re not a good fit.’

It’s not personal.
It’s loving.
It’s also business-savvy (for you and for them).

It honours not only yourself, but the prospect, your team, and the clients who ARE in alignment with you, because if you add a piece that doesn’t quite fit, it’ll have a huge knock-on effect on the overall picture.

Saying ‘No’ is the right thing just as often as saying ‘Yes’ is the right thing.

Trust your intuition. It’ll always be the right call.

The Peak District offices of our book publishers sits on a quiet business park in a quaint little town.

This is where so much of the book magic happens as we take business owners and entrepreneurs on a journey of becoming Published Authors of lead-generating books.

This is also where our 2023 book-planning and -writing retreats will be held for a select few clients; think boutique accommodations, dinner out with the team, and huge huge progress.

Driving home from our publishing house earlier, I decided to listen to a new audiobook.

Fast-forward 7 minutes, and I was already making a mental note to look up the author—a coach—in mind of looking into her programs, training bundles and 1:1 services, and following her social media and podcasts.
This is what you need to fully acknowledge and absorb when you are outlining your business goals and marketing strategies…
Because the thing is, it took only the Foreword for me to qualify myself as a client (read that again: for me to qualify myself as a client) of this particular coach:
I’m a high-level female entrepreneur (tick) ✅,
I’m interested in the services available (as evidenced by the fact I’m listening to her audiobook), (tick) ✅ and
I am willing to direct funds at her investment points (pricing subtly alluded to in the opening paragraphs) (tick) ✅.
This is the power of a lead-generating book, and I, as the CEO of a book publishers specialising and recognised in the field of lead-generation for authors, am not immune to that power!
⭐️ It’s all about your readers self-qualifying when looking at working with you.
⭐️ It’s all about building a community of social media colonies and super fans.
⭐️ It’s all about inviting these people (those who identify with the result you provide) into your orbit and containers.
⭐️ And it’s all about the quality of readers rather than the quantity.
⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️ This is what a lead-generating book is about and for.
No-brainer.

Something to think about:

Yesterday, one of our truly exceptional co-author clients sent me a voice clip that expressed true appreciation for what we do and how she loves what we are creating.
She went on to say that she’s so happy to have worked with us on a collaborative venture that she wants to move forward with her own lead-generating book.
My response?
To get choked up and be blinking back the tears as I sent a voice clip back.
(More accurately, I struggled to speak any words at all without getting emotional, so she had to listen to me apologise over and over as I blubbered into her messenger!)
The thing is, as entrepreneurs, professional service providers, business owners—whatever we may be—we are paid to deliver our expertise and do so in such a way that aims to go above and beyond in all aspects of our provision.
But payment is just one token.
And what I will say is that those few words—words that took probably mere seconds to send—meant the absolute world.
Thanks and appreciation are so so powerful.
Yes, we are paid for our services.
But gratitude for a service well delivered is everything.
And, let’s be honest, some projects—whatever it is you provide—can be more challenging than others.
So, just a little food for thought, to each and every person reading this, because it would be naive to assume that money means more or that the CEO behind the team KNOWS they (and their staff) are appreciated...
(And in some businesses, such as ours, service provision takes huge amounts of time, effort, skill, dedication and feedback across all departments, whether cover design, editorial, marketing, etc.)
So sprinkle that gratitude around like confetti if you’ve received an amazing service from a fellow business owner, because it really can make a huge huge difference.

“I’m so relieved... I thought I’d left it too late! So we can really get my book done this year?! Can it be published in January?”

📧 A message I received this morning from a fellow entrepreneur wanting to have her book written for her in the next 2 months.
❓Question: What are you doing with the last 58 days of the year?
And then a few more questions:
🖋Are you ready to set yourself up for something big heading into 2023?
📚What if you could get a huge life goal ticked off?
💫What if you could give your business an extra boost heading into 2023?
❌When people tell you the year has absolutely flown by (which I agree it has!), that isn’t to say the year is done with, over, worth writing off.
You might feel that you’ve not achieved as much as you wanted to and feel like it’s too late (it really isn’t!).
You might, on the other hand, be reflecting on quite how much you’ve achieved and still want to maximise the potential in these next 58 days!
