Exciting things are beginning to happen!
Welcome to Imperfectly Pollyanna: a podcast where an imperfect homeschool mom finds the good
Exciting things are beginning to happen!
šØ This Saturday šØ If you are new to (or considering) homeschooling, Iāll be sharing at the Homeschool 101! We will cover all the basics, leaving time for questions. THENā¼ļø Newbies (or considering) AND veteran homeschool families can come out for fun and fellowship! This is a great opportunity to meet others, encourage each other, create new friendships, and have fun as a family! You may even get a chance to sneak into the new bookstore šš¤« Bring your extended family as well and make memories! (Tell your friends! š)
Two weekends ago, I had the opportunity to attend a training in Louisville to be an optical team leader for the Uganda trip Iām going on very soon! The Gift of Sight program is incredible and I was blown away by story after story of lives changed by simply receiving a pair of glasses. Could you imagine buying a pair of prescription glasses for only $1?! Today you can. Your donation to the vulnerable women and children in Uganda will be matched 1:1. Thatās right ā”ļø $1 per pair of glasses š
My team is leaving in 3 short weeks and weāre looking for a few donors to help us reach our goal of bringing ā¼ļø 3,000 ā¼ļøpairs of glasses to Uganda šŗš¬

One of my very first experiences with the homeschool community was at an IAHE conference - hearing speakers, seeing curriculum in person, and gaining encouragement. IAHE is Indianaās state organization who's purpose is to support and encourage families interested in home education. I am honored to have been asked to present 4 workshops at this year's 2023 IAHE Parenting and Homeschool Conference and would love to have you join me!

Sometimes, we just need a reminder. Including yours truly. Here's to a new week!
I can confirm this may be my children when theyāve been told several times to gather their stuff at co-op ābecause we need to leaveā but mom has one more conversation š
Had the honor of speaking with Dr. Andrew at Lobacz Chiropractic and it was a great conversation! You know youāve got a good chiro when they homeschool ššš½ but if youāre local and havenāt given him a visit, check this out!
Have you listened today?? This was such a fun interview! catsharp.com/summithomeschool
Sometimes it's easy to lose sight of the big picture when we're knee deep in the trenches of motherhood.
I am so excited to share this interview with my friend Courtney from Imperfectly Pollyanna She shares with us how she makes it a priority to remember that she is raising warriors for Jesus - and gives us a tool to help us, too!
Log in now to listen!
If you haven't registered yet, you can get instant access to ALL of the speakers at catsharp.com/summitrecordings

When people say itās ānormalā for kids to be exposed to certain things these days, it is NOT: 1. Normal - just because it happens doesnāt mean it should 2. Out of your control - you DO have choices and while some things will happen, it doesnāt mean you donāt have the power to take the necessary means to prevent as much as possible and be proactive What it comes down to is this: YOU are the parent and are fully capable of making informed judgment calls when it comes to things that impact your family and your children. Donāt allow bullies who just appear to be louder than your conscience to determine the way you raise your kids. You CAN parent and you CAN do it well. You are capable, smart, and chosen for this time.
Have you listened? Who do you know that is struggling with their past or mental health? Elizabeth is sharing her powerful story is this 2 part episode.
"How can I be dealing with these things? If I really trust God or have enough faith, it'll just go away." Wow. I've said similar words several times in my life. Have you? What helps you in those times?
I found out the long way that it's through embracing imperfections that you can find your purpose. For example: I've been picked on for talking to much or telling such detailed stories (to the point of causing me issues in opening up) and now? I'm hosting my own podcast where I can talk as much as i want and people actually WANT to listen (whether I wear a WW cape or not)! Be encouraged, you are created for a purpose!
Believe it or not, there are multiple ways to homeschool and none of them involve sticking to a one-size-should-fit-all-but-doesn't style. #fridayfeels #schoolathome #funschool #didyouknow #imperfectlypollyanna #podcaster
As a teenager, I remember coming back from camp and having friends give a random item for me to create some sort of "sermon". I loved the challenge! I thought maybe I would try something similar for the next podcast episode and I need your help. Any object is fair game. I will randomly pick sometime this weekend and post the winner on Monday. Who's up for the challenge to stump me?
