Is this good for our democracy? News should be controlled by the community not by political or corporate interests.

Salt Lake City is losing its two daily print newspapers. The nearly 150-year-old Salt Lake Tribune and The Deseret News will be ending their daily printing and moving to weekly printed additions by the end of this year. And with that, the news desert in the U.S grows larger. Cover.This.News could bridge this gap for Salt Lake City, and so many other communities, if people are willing to give it a try.

The nearly 150-year-old Salt Lake Tribune and The Deseret News, founded in 1850, said this week that they would continue publishing online and move to weekly printed editions at the end of the year.
