So excited about this weekend! We got the chance to share a feature on the city and celebration in this month's issue and it was a favorite. We'll need one of those Three Taverns Brewery Bicentennial brews, for AFTER we run - of course.

Wish Decatur HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the big 2-0-0 this weekend! 🎂🥳 Jump in and join the parade to the square — and a full-blown party! Stilt walkers, jugglers, face painting, music, and more. Write a wish for Decatur’s future, stay for fireworks, and enjoy cupcakes.

Start the celebrations earlier on Saturday with the Bicentennial Fundraiser Walk & Run at Legacy Park. Proceeds fund legacy projects including the 200 stories project, tree canopy, and affordable housing.

On Sunday there will be walking tours and 200 stories screenings. Both will give insight into Decatur’s 200-year history!

Decatur is turning 200 and she doesn't look a day over 199! The Bicentennial Celebration Weekend kicks off with a one-mile fun run race at 9 a.m. at Decatur Legacy Park. The Bicentennial Celebration Parade begins at 3 p.m., followed by the City of Decatur's Birthday Party on the Square at 4 p.m., and Celebration Fireworks, after dark around 6 p.m. There will also be a Bicentennial History Tour at 3 p.m. on Sunday, the 10th. You know...for all those times you're at home and NOT eating at one of the incredible Decatur eateries. This month, we're talking S'mores boards. These are fantastic because they're easy, fun, delicious, and customizable. You can fit any dietary restrictions with options like vegan, kosher, and gluten free. You can make it more "adult" with sea salt chocolates or even boozy marshmallows (yes that's areal thing!). Replace the crackers with cookies, add cookie dough, use brownie bites instead of chocolate...the options are endless. What is your FAVORITE s'mores topping?

Friday night, we had the chance to cheer, laugh, and dance with so many of our founding partners and it was more than we could’ve dreamed! Our launch party was an opportunity for us to connect and celebrate what we’ve accomplished together. This city is so vibrant and diverse.
