[ new release ] Today we announce the release of « Hypermin » by Ivan Zavada, a Sydney based composer, who directs the music technology department at Sydney conservatory of music.

The album Hypermin offers a journey through meticulously crafted electronic sounds, emphasizing minimalistic textures evoking contemplation and emotion through sound. Ivan Zavada explores the intricate relationship between sound and technology, inviting audiences to embark on a journey that transcends musical boundaries. Deeply influenced by the principles of electroacoustic music and computer-assisted composition, his compositions feature sonic imagery and rhythmic pulse creating an immersive auditory experience.

[ new album ] Today we just release HAUT[R]EUR by Eva Atmatzidou

Does the idea of audience affect composing decisions? Is it really possible for a composer to create with no affection of -at least the idea of- audience? What kind of conscious or unconscious decisions might be affected and how? Would this make audience an invisible ‘composing’ part of the final work of music? Isn’t the composer a part of the audience?

Fixed electronics, graphic scores, aleatoric and fugue techniques, a typewriter, synaesthesia and a series of poems written by Eva Atmatzidou under the title ‘Miniatures from a room with Acropolis view’ are some of the ingredients mixed. The questions remain questions, the poems are never heard, but these five musical constructions exist because of them.

[New album] We released today „Forming and Storming“ by Verena Hentschel. In her EP Forming and Storming, Verena Hentschel presents 4 experimental compositions at the interface between new music and electroacoustics. She improvises on the piano herself and combines her voice with computer sounds to create remarkable, avantgarde sound experiments.

Verena Hentschel is a german composer/musician and visual artist (painting/media art). Her mainly electronic compositions focus on repetition. The basis for her compositions are field recordings, the focus is on experiencing sound and image. Her genre-spanning repertoire includes electronic dance music, experimental piano music in which she improvises on the piano herself, experimental soundscapes, sleep concerts, music for multiple loudspeakers, audiovisual works (from her paintings) and many more.

[New release] We are proud to unveil „Hundertzwanzig - Musik für die Entspannung und den Schlaf“ by Verena Hentschel.

In the 2-hour electroacoustic composition Hundertzwanzig, large-scale, cyclical salvos of sound alternate with minimalist, repetitive elements. In this extraordinary and multifaceted sound journey, listeners are invited to come to rest, dream, pursue their thoughts or let them go and capture visions in drawings.

[New release] BushAppeal
A transcultural music project by The Thinkers (Esther Flückiger, Mabeleng Moholo and Volley Nchabeleng) , in which Flückiger’s career from classical to contemporary music, jazz and ethno music enriches the entire listening experience.

The title “BushAppeal” refers to the unique characteristic of this music in which the trio has succeeded in merging the sound of the grand piano with traditional African percussion, wind and string instruments and their voices.

Esther Flückiger, Mabeleng Moholo and Volley Nchabeleng drew on their musical backgrounds and experiences in Johannesburg in 2023. Their music, composed and improvised, has divergent roots and influences. They explored different spheres, rituals and tributes and created music that reflects the heart of African culture and current human reality. A music in which the three musicians tell each other about their past, pain, hope, dreams and enlightenment. In intensive interplay the musicians were immersed in a wide spectrum of sounds, voices, rhythms and polyrhythmic structures. They created a pulsating musical language and narration, delving into innovative cross-genre communication.

New realease : « Shekhinah » for chamber ensemble and electronics by Szymon Golec

Inspiration came from the mystical conception of Divine Presence in Judaism and Kabbalah. Narration is bulid upon how to bring it around and what conditions are needed to feel Divine Presence, which is a loving and feminine force. It is a deeply personal tale of my process of reembracing my Jewish heritage. In the piece there are combined: ancient scales of Jewish liturgy in different varieties, microtonal elements, selected extended techniques and deconstructive strategies. Electroacoustic area of Fixed Media is constructed on the base of different sound synthesis methods and modified recordings of instruments, objects and my voice.

[new release] We are pleased to release “in competence” By Michael Edwards performed by .« in competence » is a through-composed work of 69 minutes duration. Scored for sopranino, alto, and baritone saxophones, piano, mostly metal percussion, and immersive electronics, it thematises competence and Shakespeare’s “Richard II”, algorithms and samples, voices and blood-curdling digital synthesis. Available in stereo, immersive audio up to 60 channels, and as a video produced at the Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Germany.

Purchase includes both audio and 1 hour full video concert recording. Available on Bandcamp and soon on streaming platforms (link in bio).

[new release] Fuga Interna (begin) (2011) – a piece for piano and fixed sound written by Katharine Norman and performed by (with for electroacoustic sound mixing).

Learning, making mistakes, making a progress and finally losing the memory. Using her own experience of being taught by her mother, Norman creates a 10 minute composition based on musical material of J.S. Bach’s Fugue in B minor from Book I WTC. Piano and electronics create coherent whole, passing the musical material to each other, until recognising those two is ”no longer black or white”…

This year will soon close, so we would like to thank all musicians, composers, listeners and audiences for this year 2023. With more than 4.000.000 streams we are happy and more and more motivated to share music with you. But this closing year was also difficult and challenging for a lot of you and a lot of us.

The need to reflect on what unites us in this world seems more and more important, and also important to take care of each other with kindness and respect.

We hope for a more peaceful 2024, in which we succeed in accepting the simultaneity of contradictions as a basic prerequisite for our coexistence and celebrating it together.

We wish you a quiet and festive season and a happy and healthy 2024! Take care of you and your beloved ones.

[new album] Studies Vol. I - Dyego, acoustic physics lover, is a mixing engineer who works with several pop artists in Milan, but also with many DJs, specializing himself on electronic sound.

This EP is the first step of a new long journey, driven by the passion of sound research, that wants to give a sound to all the mental landscapes of the people, trying to give an opinion of today’s era, exploiting the sensations that sounds can make us feel.

The tracks are a reflection of today’s society, from the perspective of a 23-year-old boy trying to study it.

It is an acoustic representation of the emotions that this era makes us feel, the perception of anxiety, dreams and extreme loneliness. " Studies Vol. I" is his first acoustic study project of this society and Dyego tries to draw on it his vision of it.

[new album] happy to unveil SYMBOLS AND VISIONS by on our Bandcamp and soon on all streaming platforms.

This new album consists of selected works starting from the winter of 2022 till the fall of 2023.

The thing that all of them somehow have in common is the symbolic nature, that is reflected in different ways and by different means through the album. Most of the compositions (5\6) are electronic or electroacoustic with wide pallete of sound synthesis methods: spectral resynthesis, 3d vector synthesis, granular synthesis, wavetable synthesis, Physical Modeling synthesis, FM synthesis – that are combined with sampling, vocal and instrumental recordings.

[new album] UXO – WALTER SALLINEN & KLAUS MAUNUKSELA.

UXO is an abbreviation of unexploded ordnance. It refers to unexploded bombs, grenades and land mines, which remain in the ground, ready to explode even decades after their use. Like unexploded ordnance, modern reality is full of unexplained threats with no single clear cause. We live in an economic system based on continual growth on a warming planet, where the future is shown in the alternating light of technological utopias and impending disasters.

[new album] Carnet de Voyage by has been entirely produced between 2021 and 2023 using binaural techniques for acoustic instruments and field recordings. The work tries to depict a sort of Grand Tour, a slow progression through natural environments such as an under-sea landscape or a karstic cave, blending together nature sounds and musical instruments.

[new album] LAND / UNLAND
If we would listen closely to this recording, sooner or later we might ask ourselves if this album is a composed combination of two distinguished solo opuses put together. The extremely minimalistic setup for this recording with the very few modular units chosen by Sarigöl combined with a beat box and a strict improvised acoustic piano by Solomon without any electronic means put forth the assertive approach of the duo.

LIGNIN’ is the collaboration of improvisers Or Solomon (electronics & piano) and Melih Sarıgöl (modular synthesizers). Thriving from the ebullient scene of European improvised and experimental music, the two musicians met in Berlin in 2019 and instinctively started their recorded improvisations.

[new album] LAST MOUNTAIN – LISA BUTEL & BRENT CROSS is just released on Elektramusic.

Last Mountain is the final release of a trilogy featuring piano samples and voice. It is derived from the 2 musicians personal experiences with parental loss, the awakening of memories on the land with their family who were homesteading settlers and the implications of colonization, changing landscapes and genocide.
