Our Story
We first emerged in 1993, as a fashion store named “He n’ She”, the first of its kind in the Maldives, and with it we brought a new wave of love for the underappreciated fine art of fashion and style into the local community. In a time and age before the revolution of social media He n’ She stepped into the limelight of this challenging industry. The brave brand introduced the petite islands of Maldives to an entire new universe never seem by them before; as they held the first ever body building competition in our nation, along with their first grand fashion and talent show in the year 1995, using world renowned brands such as “United colors of Benetton”. On their journey He n’ She attained remarkable awards such as; designer of the year, best female & male model and numerous more.
After 2 decades of progress and distinguished achievements in the fashion industry, Ka Leo was born. We are a fashion and lifestyle magazine, a media agency, and most significantly, in translation, we are “the sound”. This publication will not only revolve around the latest trends and recognition towards modern fashion, as we passionately intent to touch on topics such as; beauty, fitness & health, individuals making a difference, travel & tourism, in addition to, all and any forms of art and culture. Therefore, catering to a wide and diversity range of audiences.
Moreover, Ka Leo craves to cover untold stories that should have never been silenced and to share our voice with those without one.
