The NamIGF Appoints New Working Group. The Namibia Internet Governance Forum (NamIGF) hereby announces that a new Working Group will lead the association as from 5 December 2024. The outgoing Working Group is the second group from the founding executive body of the forum, which was launched in September 2017.
The NamIGF is a multistakeholder forum established to stimulate policy dialogue on prevailing and emerging issues on Internet Governance (IG) into foster the sustainability, robustness, security, stability, and development of the Internet in Namibia. Initiated by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and the ACTION Coalition in 2016, the Working Group consists of representatives from various stakeholder groups, as identified by the Global IGF. The newly appointed Working Group members were selected through a public
nomination process, while representatives of the Ministry of information and communication Technology and Internet Society Namibia Chapter will remain to serve the forum.
The new NamIGF Working Group Members are: Albertine Shipena (CSO, Technical), Vivette Rittmann (CSO/Academia), Nerro Nendongo (Business), Katarina Kamari (Government), Bjorn Wiedow (Business/Academia), Jessica Uiras (Academia), Rosevitha Ndumbu (CSO), and Rehabeam Pinehas (Business). The Outgoing Working Group wishes to thank all the organizations, institutions and. individuals who have contributed their time, funding and expertise towards building the forum. Sincere gratitude is extended to the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology as well as the Internet Society Namibia chapter for their continuous support of internet governance issues in Namibia.
