How is the year going so far?

One of the highlights of my year 2020.
One of my prayer points for this year was to be able to be there for my sister's wedding.
Sometimes I forget she's my sister and consider her my daughter. It meant so much to me to be at her wedding.
This wedding was moved severally because of Mr. Covid!
At some point it seemed like an impossible task because of the travel restrictions and the terrible hit on our finances but voila!
I didn't just go to Nigeria towards the end of November for this wedding but my daughter went with me too.
God answered me beyond what I prayed for
Thank You my God Almighty!

Telling a battared woman to 'forgive' and go back to her abuser just after a few days is beyond despicable!
There is no peace in that.
A man who beats a pregnant woman and beats her again 4 weeks after a CS childbirth, sitting on her incision site while doing that, doesn't change in the twinkle of an eye.
He apologised because of the public outcry and his job was at stake. Public apology doesn't mean a change of attitude.
It is very irresponsible of the governor and his wife to use their influence to get that woman to make a public declaration of forgiving her husband within just hours of crying out for help!
There is no forgiveness in that! That woman needs help and support to heal before she can take the decision of wether to go back or not!
My heart beeds for that woman.
She was overwhelmed by the people of influence who cornered her. We don't know what her background is like. I feel so much pity for her.
If this abuse reapeats itself, I hope she has the courage to cry out again and that she gets the support and help she needs, yet again.
It is by God's grace that we are here. Never forget that!

There is male privilege every where but there is a great divide between general human rights and women rights in Africa.
A great deal of these equality issues start from our families and the different standards on the raising of the male child and the female child.
