People in Gaza are now forced to drink sea water mixed with sewage as Israel cut off water supply and banned fuel imports to Gaza.

According to unicef reports, gazans are living on less than 3 liters of water a day, which is far below the WHO’s minimum recommendations of 50 liters to meet the basic human needs.

Israel has allowed some water to flow through one of the three pipelines into Gaza, but experts believe it covers only a tiny percentage of the enclave’s needs.

Mazen Ghunaim, Head of the Palestinian Water Authority, says without large-scale intervention, the lack of water will trigger a “humanitarian catastrophe.”

On Saturday Gaza received its first convoy of aid trucks with 60,000 liters of water but it is far below the 33 million liters a day requirements of gaza.

According to Oxfam, Private vendors who run small water desalination or purification plants are now the biggest water suppliers. But the cost to buy water has increased five-fold.

As people are forced to fill up containers and store water, experts fear the spread of waterborne diseases like cholera and dysentery.

According to WHO, Hospitals are also facing “an imminent water and sanitation crisis,” as they are struggling to sterilize surgical equipment.

Meanwhile, Israeli influencers are Mocking Palestinians in Gaza for not having water or electricity
