A strong brand is crucial for any business! Brand identity and consistency builds trust, and an aligned brand can help to attract your perfect customer and filter out those who may not be a good fit to work with you.

Looking to strengthen your brand? Here are 3 quick & easy tips to create a Brand Kit that you can refer to when you’re designing all the things - from your website to your social media to your courses, services, and products!

🎨 Decide on your brand colors and how you’ll use them. Keeping as consistent as possible with your brand colors helps to create a sense of reliability within your brand. You can play with variations in shades, but try not to veer too far from the palette.

🔤 Choosing fonts & typefaces can be so fun! Decide on at least 1 or 2 fonts to use for headers and body text on your website and collateral material. Get clear on how you use these fonts so if you need to outsource something, you can provide clear guidance on what your brand’s typography is…and is not!

🤸🏽‍♀️ Create a Mood Board! This should reflect the energy and vibe of your brand! It’ll help to guide things like photoshoots, stock image selections, and the overall feel of your digital (and physical) spaces. Have fun with this!

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to navigate the world of entrepreneurship with one of my best friends who also became my first business partner. She and I developed a weekly planning system that was centered around alignment, clarity, and productivity. ⁠
⁠
What exactly does this consist of, you ask? It's pretty rad, check it out:⁠

1. Big Vision - every few months (typically I do this quarterly...ish) you get to check in with your big vision for your life and your business. Most likely this has shifted over the last few months, and it's imperative to align your weekly tasks with your Big Vision...because if it's not aligned, then what are you really working towards?⁠
⁠
2. Check in with yourself Mentally, Physically, Emotionally, Spiritually. Get crystal clear on how your overall health is, and how you can optimize each of these areas over the next week.⁠
⁠
3. Calendar Review - THIS has saved me from countless double bookings, sneaky deadlines, and things that may have otherwise slipped through the cracks.⁠
⁠
4. Quality Questions - Tony Robbins says, "The quality of your life is a direct reflection of the quality of the questions you are asking yourself." So of course, this planner is full of quality Qs! ⁠

5. After just a few weeks, you have a powerful log that you can use to reflect back on and identify patterns. Using this analysis, you can then identify areas in your life that could use little adjustments...and thus...completely optimize your work and life to be in total alignment with your big vision, living in your joy as often as humanly possible, and navigating challenging situations with more ease and grace.⁠

Like simplicity, balance is something I'm constantly reminding myself to intentionally create. Without balance, we end up feeling burnt out and overwhelmed. ⁠
⁠
The thing about balance is, if we give ourselves the time and space to reflect and sit quietly with ourselves and ask ourselves the quality questions that allow us to check in with our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health, we intuitively know when we are feeling out of alignment and unbalanced, and we often know how to recreate the balance we're seeking.⁠

I'm grateful to have a weekly planning process in place to keep me in alignment with my work and my play. "Keep it simple" -- this is probably the best advice I've ever received. ⁠

As someone who loves to learn things backwards and forwards, inside and out, and over-complicate things until they're almost unrecognizable, I am constantly reminding myself to essentialize and keep things SIMPLE. ⁠
⁠
One of my mentors teaches one of the simplest and most effective forms of online marketing I've ever seen. Why does it work? Because it's authentic, it's honest, it's full of value, and it meets people where they're at. There's no fluff, no slimy sales tactics, and no BS. At the core, SIMPLE SELLS. Mile-long sales pages and complex, intricate, multi-page sales funnels are a thing of the past.⁠

This is just one of countless examples of the way simplicity highlights value. Simplicity is efficient. Simplicity is easy. Simplicity sells. ⁠

I'm obsessed with patterns. They're satisfying, comforting, predictable (sometimes), natural (yet unnatural), and just the most fascinating concept EVER.⁠
⁠
In design, the Fibonacci spiral is a foundational concept. Basically, our eye and thus, our subconscious mind, is drawn to designs that feel like they flow, like the follow some sort of visual sequence. The subconscious predictability of a design that was created based on a pattern is comforting and easy to look at, and thus, attractive. (In Mandarin, the words for "pretty" and "ugly" literally translate to "easy or difficult to look at"...which seems pretty fitting for design!)⁠

Take a look at some of your favorite images, designs, and logos. Do they flow? Do they feel satisfying to look at? If so, can you identify any patterns?

Happy Sunday, fam! ✨ Welcome to my morning meditation practice!⁠

Traditional meditation was never really my thing. It wasn't for lack of trying...TRUST ME. I had all the apps, set reminders in my calendar, did a 30-day meditation challenge...all the things! Don't get me wrong, meditation is THE BIZ and I am a believer in slowing down to speed up and gifting yourself a quiet space to create alignment, set intentions, and reconnect with soul. Like...daily. It's a thing.⁠
⁠
For me, it's drawing. 30 minutes (almost) every morning.⁠ This ritual kickstarts my flow state and triggers so many ideas! I love the way I breathe while I draw & I am almost addicted the calmness that settles in as I get lost in the art.

Colors elicit emotions. In design, we like to assign each color a meaning and an emotional trigger based on its historic use. For example, most fast food restaurants use red in their logos because red is believed to increase people's appetites. Is that true? Possibly. Are restaurants doing themselves a disservice by not using red in their logos? Nope! Colors have a specific meaning if we allow them to take that meaning on. ⁠
⁠
The real truth is that we decide what our brand and logo colors mean. This can be implicit or explicit, and we get to decide when and where to tell our own story. Maybe it's on the "about" page of your website or in your company's Instagram bio, or maybe you tell your story on stages, podcasts, or YouTube videos. This our life, our business, and our decision to give meaning (or not to give meaning) to the things, colors, images, and words that we put into the world! You create your reality, so go get 'em & don't stop creating! 🌱✨

So, this is pretty much my backyard. I live in Hawai'i on the Island of O'ahu, and I count my blessings everyday that I get to wake up and experience the immense beauty of this place each and every day!⁠
⁠
But I'll admit, I also take it for granted. I typically work far too much and, like many of us, I don't spend as much time in nature as I'd like to. This week, I'm taking some BOLD ACTION to change this, to create a schedule and support system that allows me to get back OUTSIDE, to enjoy this incredible place that I get to call home, and to work less, serve more, and live this one life I have to its absolute fullest!⁠

What are these actions? Here are a few...⁠

1 - Weekly Planning. Boom. If you get nothing else from this post, I hope you take away this small but MIGHTY hack that will literally change EVERYTHING for you. 2 - Outsource, Automate, Delegate. I've got a team of extremely talented VAs that I don't delegate tasks to nearly as much as I could. This week, before I start any task, I'm going to ask myself, "Does this need to be done by me?"...if the answer is NO...I MUST assign it to someone else. Whewww this is going to majorly challenge my inner perfectionist! ...and I bet it's going to totally change the game.⁠

3 - Time Block. Remember that modular school schedule we all used to have? 45 minutes of math. Break. 45 minutes of science. Break. 45 minutes of art. Break. When did we start telling ourselves that we couldn't fully focus on something for 45 minutes, rest, and then completely change gears effectively? We used to do it everyday! I'm going to give this a shot this week and you better believe "Hike", "Surf", and "Lunch Date" will be all up in the mix!⁠

Lines are essential to structures. Curves are simply short lines (a.k.a. dots) aligned on a curve. Digital drawing is literally the manipulation of lines and dots (or points along the lines).⁠
