Strong to severe storms are looking likely today during the mid to late afternoon and overnight hours as a strong low pressure system moves through the Great Lakes. The day will start out warm and dry, and highs will reach into the mid to upper 80s and 90s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon and increase in coverage through the late evening/overnight hours. All threats are on the table once strong to severe thunderstorms develop, but damaging winds and large hail are the main threats. Isolated tornadoes are also possible. There could be some localized flooding in areas that have already received a lot of rain this week, but luckily most areas are pretty dry and the system should move through fairly quickly, so we don't expect widespread flooding problems. We have high confidence in severe weather occurring, but medium confidence in regards to the exact location and timing of the strongest storms.
