Many in Yeovil will know Councillor Andy Kendall, Mayor of Yeovil, suffered a stroke last summer (2023). He received emergency treatment and care at Yeovil Hospital's Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. Councillor Kendall has not spoken publicly about what happened - until now. BritBox: BBC and ITV launch streaming service rival to Netflix

So after months of behind-the-scenes development, BBC and ITV have finally unveiled BritBox, their new joint streaming service, to compete with Netflix and Amazon. Subscribers are being promised thousands of hours of their favourite shows from the broadcasters' programme back catalogues, with millions going into new and original content. But will BritBox be able to justify its £5 a month subscribers' fee? When many people already pay out £150 a year on their BBC licence fee. Who is BritBox for? And will people be prepared to pay extra to receive it?

The new service, named BritBox, will offer "an unrivalled collection of British boxsets and original series", broadcasters said.
