COPS CONTINUE CRACKDOWN ON ILLEGAL GUNS AND DRUGS:

The Police Service has intensified its efforts to remove illegal weapons and narcotics from the streets by executing a series of anti-crime exercises across police divisions in Trinidad and Tobago over the weekend.

In the Tobago Division, police officers carried out a search warrant at a residence on Shelbourne Street, Plymouth, for fi****ms and ammunition. During the operation, the suspect allegedly directed the officers to the northern section of the house, where a G***k 19 pistol and 14 rounds of nine-millimeter ammunition were discovered.

Meanwhile, in Trinidad, officers of the Morvant Police Station in the North-Eastern Division acted on intelligence that led them to conduct a search in a bushy, unoccupied plot of land on Seventh Avenue, Malick, Barataria. A black plastic bag containing 251 grams of ma*****na, wrapped in brown plastic, was discovered concealed in a bamboo patch. No individuals were arrested in relation to this discovery.

Additionally, in the Northern Division, law enforcement officials discovered a .38 special revolver while conducting anti-crime exercises between 11 pm on Friday, March 10, and 3:30 am on Saturday, March 11. Joseph Avenue, Malabar Train Line, Ackbarali East and West, and Highly Avenue received special attention from the officers during the exercise. The firearm was found in the vicinity of the fence on the North-Eastern side of the Malabar Early Childhood Care and Education Centre and seized.

The Police Service also reported that in the Port of Spain Division, officers apprehended a male resident of Bldg. 34 Apt. D Duncan Street, Port of Spain, on Outstanding Affiliation Warrants, amounting to $84,000. The suspect was taken to the Morvant Police Station, where he is assisting the authorities with further investigations.

These operations demonstrate the Police Service's continued dedication to eliminating illicit weapons and narcotics from the streets of Trinidad and Tobago, thereby contributing to a safer society.

TOP 5 WEIGHT LOSS TIPS:

Are you struggling to lose weight and keep it off? You're not alone. According to the World Health Organization, worldwide obesity has nearly tripled since 1975. However, there are ways to shed the pounds and keep them off. Here are the top five weight-loss tips that experts recommend:

Eat a balanced and nutritious diet
Eating a balanced and nutritious diet is the foundation of any successful weight loss plan. Focus on whole, unprocessed foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Avoid highly processed and sugary foods and drinks. Be sure to eat enough to fuel your body, but not so much that you exceed your daily caloric needs.

Exercise regularly
Exercise is essential for weight loss and overall health. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise most days of the week. You can choose any activity that you enjoy, such as walking, cycling, or swimming. Don't forget to incorporate strength training exercises to build lean muscle mass, which can boost your metabolism and help you burn more calories at rest.

Practice mindful eating
Mindful eating means paying attention to your body's hunger and fullness cues and eating without distraction. Avoid eating in front of the TV or computer, as this can lead to mindless overeating. Take your time to savor your food, and stop eating when you feel satisfied, not stuffed.

Get enough sleep
Getting enough sleep is crucial for weight loss and overall health. Lack of sleep can disrupt your hormones, leading to increased hunger and cravings. Aim for seven to eight hours of sleep each night, and try to establish a consistent sleep schedule.

Seek support
Losing weight can be challenging, and it's essential to have a support system in place. Join a weight loss group, enlist a friend or family member as an accountability partner, or work with a registered dietitian or personal trainer. Having someone to share your successes and struggles with can make all the difference.

In conclusion, weight loss is a journey, and it requires a combination of healthy eating, regular exercise, mindful eating, adequate sleep, and support. By incorporating these top five weight-loss tips into your lifestyle, you'll be well on your way to achieving your weight loss goals and maintaining a healthy weight for the long-term.
