7 of the 9 Councilmembers are ready to vote in favor of defunding SPD by 50%. Only 6 votes are needed to override a mayoral veto from Mayor Jenny Durkan who has spoken out against defunding the police department.

The council is currently considering changes to the city's 2020 budget, which has been ripped apart by the coronavirus health and economic crisis.

In a weird an unforeseen plot twist, the King County Detective who was placed on administrative leave last week is Governor Jay Inslee’s cousin. This is the same Detective that was put on leave for joking about “All Lives Splatter” on social media just hours after two protesters were struck by a car which resulted in the death of Seattle’s beloved Summer Taylor.

The father of 24-year-old Summer Taylor, the protester who was killed on I-5 early Saturday morning, called for King County detective Mike Brown to be fired immediately for Facebook posts that seemed to make light of the fatal crash.

Jay Inslee has signed a statewide order requiring businesses to turn away customers not wearing masks. Businesses who don’t comply could be fined in excess of $10k.

At approximately 1am PDT a car got thru the DOT and WA State patrol blockade and intentionally ran down protesters. Reports that 2 protesters were critically injured and taken to the hospital.

Witnesses of today’s shooting in the Central District say they heard several gunshots on the 2600 block of Yesler Way. The gunman was said to have been seen fleeing the area while the injured man limped over to his vehicle until paramedics arrived on the scene. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Definitely worth the read and your time. I was made aware of Evans arrest a day after it happened. This definitely made me very cautious moving forward at the time as I knew, by reporting the people’s truth, I could be subjecting myself to an arrest with false pretenses.

I would love learn about some new spots around the city to spend my money. I’m also interested in creating a segment to promote and do my part to support these restaurants. My goal with this piece is to promote these businesses and create a larger awareness of them in our community!

Before the police left their barricades just days ago, protesters could be seen here, on 11th street, painting cardboard signs at a designated sign making station. Some were making signs to march with and others were creating multiple signs to pass out among the crowd.
