The Ifugao COVID-19 Task Force (TF) on Monday, during a meeting on April 20, approved the proposed plans, projects and activities to be funded under the P39M Bayanihan Grant for Provinces.
The proposed programs and projects include the procurement of more Personal Protective Equipment, reagents, testing kits, disinfectants, medical supplies and other necessary COVID-19 related purchases for front-liners. All these materials will augment supplies at present and for the quarantine activities for when the stranded Ifugaos outside the Province are brought home. Aside from those mentioned earlier, hospital equipment like medical tents, portalets, laryngoscope, oxygen tanks, generator set, hospital beds and other required equipment and medical supplies are to be purchased. A big chunk of the fund will go to the construction/repair/lease/rental of additional space/building to accommodate possible cases and or persons under investigation.
Meantime, the TF will facilitate the remitting of the second wave of P1,000 cash assistance to stranded Ifugaos outside Nueva Vizcaya this week.
During the meeting, the body adopted a resolution strongly advising the municipal mayors and all concerned personnel manning the checkpoints in the Province to stop the disinfection of individuals or groups of people in pursuant to the World Health Organizations advisory and Department of Health’s Memorandum No. 2020-0157.
Furthermore, to minimize the entry and exit of food traders from COVID hotspot areas and to prevent the chance of infection, the body decided to reiterate the policy on the Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule of transport of vegetables and fruits to trading posts outside the Province.
