Welcome to another Metro Monday this weeks show case will be the S - Stock.

The S-stock entered service in 2010 on the Metropolitan Line to replace the old and now very outdated 1060s A stock. Later one it would also go on to replace C stock (2014 and D stock (2017). As of 2017 the whole Subsurface London Underground Network is now operated by S-stock.
Two types operate on the network S8 on the Metropolitan line and S7 on the Circle and District lines.

The trains have traction motors on every axle in addition to walk-though gangways allowing passengers access to all carriages even when in motion something which older tube stock lack. Other improvements include auto closing doors to help maintain the heat or cool of the carriages these can be over ridden by the driver if needs be.
