"Yesterday, people got stranded in Murree in a snow storm and locals went viral for asking 3000 for pushing small cars and 5000 for pushing large ones.

Oh! And a whole division of Army spent the night sleeping at the School of Logistics just minutes away from the disaster zone.

Whereas 2 years ago people got stranded on the Zhob-Kuchlak highway in a snow storm and Suleman Khan from Khanozai went viral for rescuing a hundred individuals and towing cars to safety with his personal Land Cruiser, all alone.

But some (he/him/she/her) from DHA will persist on saying that 'you know, ya'll pathans are so narrow minded and so extremist like it's oppressive, you know.'

And ISPR will keep on having a Pathan character in their next tax-payer funded, imbecilic, propaganda soap opera who speaks jumbled Urdu in a totally farcical accent just to give the impression that the people he/she represents are so down on the learning ladder as to be incapable of stringing a complete sentence in another language.

Meanwhile a lot many will continue either finding it genuinely funny or pretending that it is (funny).

The behavioral difference is so huge, it can be observed from Mars. [And It's not just one instance, there are scores more.] Yet, subtle racism is dressed as comedy and passed off as some sort of a cultural characteristic and certain souls branded uncivilized just for kicks.

Heavy monsoon rains have damaged the ancestral houses of legendary Indian film actors Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar located in Pakistan’s Peshawar city.

The ancestral houses, already in dilapidated condition, were taken over by the Pakistan government, which had declared them as national heritage and completed all the formalities to convert them into museums in their honour.

The rains inundated both the ancestral houses of Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar, which are already in shambles, and damaged some parts, local people said.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archaeology Department is yet to start the renovation work of the buildings, situated in Qissa Khwani Bazar area.

After a long absence from the music scene, famous folk singer Gul Panra has treated her fans to a new Pashto song “Singaar Tappy.”

Composed by Yammi Khan, the Singaar Tappy song was written by Fareed Khan. Introducing the song, the music production house, Step One, said on its YouTube channel that the song was "recorded in peshawar mode of the song is Tappay language pashto."

Gul Panra shares her two cents on honour killings and being a woman in a conservative society:

“Being a well-known face and a woman in our society can prove to be deadly combination; both metaphorically and literally,” she smirks, adding “especially if you’re known for something as controversial as singing or dancing and, that too, in a Pashtun society.”

That explains why she completed her Masters in Social Sciences from Peshawar University before taking up a career that she is more passionate about than certain.

Moreover, incidences like the murder of a widely followed female singer Ghazala Javed in 2012 often make her realise the importance of having a back up option.

“Though she was killed for different reasons but ... it can happen to anyone and any time,” says Gul on a serious note. “Any female singer hailing from KP will face a number of threats, needless interference from parents and other factors that a female singer from elsewhere won’t. It comes with the territory, either face it or don’t embrace it.”
