We had an amazing long weekend in Sedona, AZ. It’s an incredibly beautiful part of our country.
We decided to wake up at 5:00am to enjoy sunrise donuts on the Broken Arrow Trail.
We’ve watched do this many times and wanted to try it out. We got to at 6:00 am sharp and then hit the trail. It was awesome.
We enjoyed wheel’n the trail as well.

I had to take a moment to recognize the workhouse of the family. This truck has taken us 7,263.7 miles (and counting) since we pulled away from our house in Newark in Nov ‘20. She’s overdue for an oil change and a serious bath!!!

How amazing is our backyard tonight! We had a bit of a scare when Kelly’s Jeep went into limp mode on the highway. But she got pulled over and I cleared the codes and it’s been fine since. All these stupid sensors are a pain!

So Lions Head approved a new wheel under warranty for us. But it’s going to take a couple weeks. We have over a thousand miles to drive and didn’t want to do it without an emergency spare. So little JB Weld and a lot of🤞🤞🙏🙏 Hopefully we won’t need it.

We had an unexpected mid-week travel day. Things were going ok until we pulled into the inspection station to have the truck and trailer inspected and the TPMS alarmed. We discovered a cracked rim!!! One of the mechanics was so nice to help us change it out and we were back on the road again. Thankfully we’re settled in for the night and tomorrow we try to figure out what to do with the rim.

After surviving a week of subfreezing temps but still enjoying the nighttime temperatures we’re now sleeping with the windows open!

The sun is shining and we should be done with all of the winter storm craziness!! We’re blessed to have survived with briefly loosing heat due to a frozen GasStop and water due to a frozen tank caused by the heat going out. Thankfully the next day was sunny and we had enough propane to thaw it and the camper performed perfectly.

When the maintenance crew pulled off a miracle to fix our water in sub freezing temperatures without shutting off the main supply! We were so thankful! Unfortunately somehow it’s still leaking from underneath and has been dumping water out for days which has soaked the site. We moved next door to get into a dry site and allow the crew space to fix the problem.

We left Texas on January 9th to spend 4 weeks in Florida. As we finish our week in Louisiana we reflected on how have enjoyed the gulf coast cuisine. While on this leg of our adventures we’ve been fortunate enough to try King Cake, Gator, Crawfish, Boudin Balls, Catfish, Red Snapper (fish), Red Fish, Oysters, Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffee, and Beignet Mix (to enjoy later). Tomorrow we head back into Texas just as record winter storms barrel much further south than normal. We hope for a safe journey and that we can stay warm!

What a way to spend an afternoon in Louisiana. Swamp boat tour was amazing Brian the owner was great. We learned all about the bayou and swamp. Finished up the evening with gator tacos and fresh cracklins. We’re soaking up the Cajun culture.

We had an amazing experience at our latest Harvest Host location. This beautiful lavender farm had animals for the girls to pet, fresh eggs from the chickens, gracious hosts and lavender products to purchase. We would recommend and visit again!

The only “problem” we’ve experienced with Boondocking or dry camping is this guy gives us the stink eye. We’re not completely sure but it seems like he wants the fireplace turned on! We do keep it a bit cooler to conserve propane & battery power.
