🌟 Celebrating the Parkash Purab of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji 🌟
Known as the father of Miri and Piri (Worldly and Spiritual authority), Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji laid the foundation for the militarisation of Sikhs to defend the defenceless. ⚔️🙏
He constructed the Akaal Takhat opposite Harmandir Sahib, symbolising the balance of spiritual and temporal power. Held in Gwalior Fort by Jahangir and the first Guru to engage in warfare with the Mughals, his courageous legacy continues to inspire every Sikh.
Lets honour his teachings by actively defending those who cannot defend themselves.

40 years ago, countless lost their lives at the hand of the Government of India at the Harmandir Sahib complex (Golden Temple) in Panjab, India.
Those inside were guilty of fighting for their human rights or simply paying their respects on the martyrdom anniversary of the Sikhs’ fifth Guru.
We remember the bravery of those fighting injustice, be it all those years ago or even today, where justice is still as elusive, in the “world’s largest democracy”.

Today as we celebrate the Gurpurab of Guru Amar Das Ji, the third Guru of the Sikhs, we remember his gift of happiness and bliss through the Gurbani of Anand Sahib.
Guruji emphasised equality, not just between men and women but throughout society. Guruji made it a rule to
all to sit together, on the floor, partake in langar before seeing him.
Guruji is also notable for his seva to Guru Angad Dev Ji, the second Guru of the Sikhs. Even in his mature age his seva knew no bounds.
As we celebrate Guruji’s Gurpurab today, may we also remember his teachings and practice them in our daily lives.

Today we celebrate the Perkash Purab of Guru Angad Dev Ji Maharaj, the second Guru of the Sikhs.
Guru Ji was blessed with the utmost humility during his time with Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Born Bhai Lehna, the first Guru renamed him, Angad, meaning “My Limb”.
Guru Ji was most notably known for standardising the Gurmukhi script which is what we know and love today.
He built schools and encouraged education and learning. He continued the teachings of equality and Langar, initiated by Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj.
Guru Angad Dev Ji emphasised that Sikhi is not merely a religion to follow, but a way of life.
On this auspicious day may we remember Guru Ji’s teachings and instil them in our own hearts and daily lives.
Congratulations to the entire sangat on their Perkash Purab!

Tegh Bahadur translates as “Brave with the Sword”, but why was this name bestowed upon Guru Sahib?
Most remember Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji for his meditative contemplation or selfless sacrifice for others. But many may forget that Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji changed their name from Tyag Mal after witnessing their sword-swinging skills in battles.
