Coach spotlight time!

As the founder of LG back in the high school days, and a prominent officer for the past two years, Coach Patskidoo has one last hurrah as LG Terra's head coach for the AcadArena University Alliance Cup Season 2.

Q1: It's your last semester in college, what can you say about leaving your legacy in school through LG?

A: I built my life around LG and this by far has been my greatest investment and achievement in college. Being able to form a community of Ateneans who promotes our advocacy on and sustains their spark in gaming through active participation in community events and esports tournaments would be my legacy. The best thing about it is that I am confident at how the gaming community in Ateneo is structured and secured for the succeeding generations. I’ve always thought that making a name through gaming would be my greatest goal if ever, but that changed when I saw how genuine the casuals, players, and officers are in establishing this very home to all gamers.

Q2: After managing and coaching two collegiate teams, what do you think makes a team championship caliber?

A: Discipline, mindset, and respect. In this level of competition where almost all players have the same individual skill cap, winning only relies on their capacity to listen and comply with the calls. In line with this, everyone should put their teams first before themselves.

Q3: How are you guiding LG Terra on the path to the UAC trophy?

A: There is a high tendency for players to tunnel vision in a match, and as their coach, it is my role to help them see the game from different perspectives. All players have a good sense of how the game should be played and it is my role to realign their different yet outstanding playstyles in every call or strategy they do. Making strategies is only a portion of my role as composing a strategy is always a team decision, thus instilling discipline and a proper mindset would be my greatest asset to them as their manager and coach.
