Meet our Guest, the amazing Andre Merritt, this brother is knowledgable on so many levels. It was a blast chatting with him and learning about his musical journey.
Andre Merritt, a singer/songwriter, who has written for Rihanna and Chris Brown, is an artist in its truest form. Andre Merritt is not only a prolific songwriter, but also a great vocalist, who is now propelling his artistry towards a solo career. Andre has helped create career-defining hits and a musical sound that is proven timeless for all genres. Over the last 10 years, Andre Merritt has won two Grammy Awards and topped the Billboard charts time and time again.
Andre began his career in the music industry as a motivated singer/ songwriter working his way from the streets of Compton, CA all the way across to Las Vegas, NV into the reputable studios of Hollywood and New York City. Andre was an aspiring artist since he was about fifteen years old and like most new artists, he performed locally around the cities he lived in.
When he moved to Las Vegas during his high school years he decided to join a singing group, that happened to include another well-known artist by the name of Neyo. Andre, Neyo, and third member didn't stay together long due to empty promises from a local independent executive. It surely wasn't the end of the road for Andre.
Determined to make it big, Andre decided to go back home to Los Angeles to pursue his career as a singer/songwriter. Andre started circling any and every studio in Los Angeles to
try and knock down the door of opportunity, but in 2005 he decided he needed a little help. He pursued various management companies and found a home with On Point Management, a Los Angeles based management company owned by the Sanchez Bros. He then felt he had established a winning team to help take him to the top.
Andre launched his songwriting career in 2006 with Marques Houston's lead single "Favorite Girl" and followed with the highly-respected "Entourage" performed by Omarion which garnered interests from every major publishing company in the industry. Andre ended up signing with Universal Music Publishing in 2007 for the final piece that he was looking for as a songwriter.
He then followed with the release of "Down" a song by Chris Brown featuring Kanye West, and three of his most popular #1 records are titled "Forever" by Chris Brown from the re-release of Exclusive: The "Forever" Edition, "Disturbia" by Rihanna from the re- release of Reloaded, and "Fight For This Love" by X-Factor judge superstar Cheryl Cole in the UK.

In 2011 and 2012, Andre earned his first Grammy Award, as well as Billboard, NAACP, and American Music Award nominations for his work on one of Chris Brown’s most notable albums- F.A.M.E. Chris Brown’s “Wet The Bed” feat Ludacris from the F.A.M.E. Album, climbed to #6 on Billboard’s Hip/Hop and R&B Charts.
Andre has worked with some of the top artists in the world including Chris Brown, Rihanna, Usher, Cheryl Cole, Natasha Bedingfield, Kanye West, Kelly Rowland, The Black-Eyed Peas, Willow Smith, Jason Derulo, Mila J, Melanie Fiona, Katy Perry, Jack & Jack, XO, Timbaland, Jessie McCartney, Alexandra Burke, Goapele, and many more of the world’s top music producers, song writers and recording artists.
Andre Merritt feels "living life to the fullest is to live out your dream, exceed all expectations and do what you want to do." He not only looks forward to winning another Grammy as a songwriter but also as a solo recording artist himself.
