BACK TO THE BASEMENT CONCERT
Courtesy of Abducted by the 80sThe Back to the Basement virtual online concert, featuring performances by a variety of popular 1980s acts, takes place this Saturday, June 13, and among the artists on the bill is Wang Chung.
One of the highlights of the U.K. band's set will be the debut performance of a the newly reworked version of the group's 1986 hit "Everybody Have Fun Tonight," retitled "Everybody Stay Safe Tonight," which was released digitally earlier this week.
Regarding the updated tune, Wang Chung frontman Jack Hues tells ABC Audio, "I've done a new vocal on it to fit in with this idea that the virtual concert is really about, [which is] bringing a bit of support and good vibes to all the people who are working on the frontline with the COVID[-19] crisis."
He adds, "[W]e've got some new people singing on it and all kinds of people contributing to it. So, it's kind of cool."
