⚠️ Auckland Airport has officially been closed due to flooding. DO NOT GO TO THE AIRPORT. Please check with your airline 🙏
⚠️ Power cuts around Auckland PLEASE stay home!
⚠️ SH 20 South from Onehunga to airport, Māngere or Manukau. Onehunga basin has completely flooded south bound lanes, some cars submerged. No one getting through!
⚠️ Mangere Bridge avoid using Kapuka Road as there is severe flooding in the road and Toatoa Place.
⚠️ This storm and rain is expected to continue until end of next week 😭
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO STAY SAFE
🙏 PLEASE remain calm and ONLY call 111 if you’re in danger.
🙏 Don't go out sightseeing, kayaking, swimming as authorities need to focus on actual emergencies
🙏 Prepare to evacuate if you live in low lying areas.
🙏 Get your emergency kit with supplies. water bottles, first aid kit, charge phones & power packs, torches, food, medicine, change of clothes, etc ready
🙏 Stay out of the water! Flood water is fast moving. It's unsafe, mixed with sewage and diseases from rats
🙏 Stay away from the beaches, rivers, creeks. Move to higher ground if it's safe
🙏 Please check on your neighbours, elderly, people who live on their own and put your pets inside the house with you
