Fam’s Brewing Co’s homebrew festival and brewery anniversary party, Chucktown Brewdown, returns on Saturday, April 23 from 1pm-5pm.
This year 41 homebrewing teams comprised of 117 of the Lowcountry's best homebrewers will brew their favorite wheat beer for you to sample. They will even have additional styles of beers for you to enjoy as well.
(Types of wheat beer: American Wheat, Hefeweizen, Dunkelweizen, Weizenbock, Belgian Witbier, Fruit Wheat Beer, or Wheatwine)
Guests can drink and talk with the homebrewers, listen to live music, play games on the patio, and enjoy a pint of Fam’s Brewing Co’s 5th-anniversary beer and some pizza.
Attendees will also get to help select their favorite wheat beer. The homebrewing team with the most votes will win the coveted People's Choice Award.
At the end of the festival, Fam’s Brewing Co. will be awarding the homebrewing team that the judging panel chose as the best wheat beer. The winning team will get to join the head brewer to brew their winning beer on their professional system and placed on tap at the brewery along with other prizes.
Tickets go on sale at 10am Tuesday, March 1.
Advanced sales are highly recommended. Day of sales is not guaranteed as they will be limited to capacity.

A little while ago, Charles Towne Fermentory got together with Daps Breakfast & Imbibe and cooked up a special imperial stout, brewed with Daps pancakes, maple, coffee, and cocoa nibs.
TODAY at 10am, Charles Towne will be releasing 🥞Stack House III, their third in a series of stouts they've been brewing annually with Daps since 2018. Pickup begins when doors open at 2pm. Stack House III will be available both on draft and in cans to-go.

TODAY (Fri. 12/3) Beer Release: Hilma Ho**er at Indigo Reef Brewing Company

Please join Indigo Reef TODAY for their latest beer release - Hilma Ho**er! They will also have live music from David Grunstra from 5:30-8:30pm.
The Beer: Hilma Ho**er is a Belgian Tripel. This easy-drinking 8.3% beer has a dry finish with subtle flavors of fruit and honey. To give this beer a fun IRBC twist, Indigo Reef added 60lbs of honey during fermentation.
The Name: The Hilma Ho**er was a ship of many names and uses. Its last use before sinking was actually for illegal drug shipping. It is now a dive site in Bonaire.

Join Indigo Reef for their newest beer- Siren's Song!
This is the 2021 Brewster beer- brewed by women here in Charleston.
Siren's Song is a Hazy Pale Ale brewed with the Pink Boots hop blend, Cashmere, and Citra Hops. The final product is a tropical fruit forward, easy drinking pale ale.
$1 from every pint sold will go to Junior Girls Day Out- a local charity that aims to educate, enrich, and empower girls with programs for girls ages 4-14.

BREWSTER Women's Brew Day at Holy City Brewing

Hey, ladies! Holy City is having another women’s brew day with the help of BREWSTER CHS! This is an event that allows females of the community to learn and help with the brewing process of a specialty brew. Women were the first brewers, after all, and BREWSTER is the term for a woman who makes beer, and ladies have about a 4,000-year heads-up on the men of the industry. In years past, Holy City has always brewed Madam Basil as their women’s brew day beer, but this year they're allowing the gals that sign up to have a say in the beer being brewed. Register by emailing [email protected] and tell her what ingredients or styles of brew you want! Only taking suggestions from registered people, so blow up Sarah’s email and show her you’re on the team! The beer will be featured at a CHS Beer Week event and $1 will go to BREWSTER’s preferred nonprofit for every pint sold, nonprofit TBD. October 2nd from 9am-3pm. Cheers. We're halfway to Park Circle's favorite holiday, and Commonhouse has some killer live music lined up to celebrate!
The Tan and Sober Gentlemen will be back on the Commonground stage, and will have you on your feet from the first chord!
Born and raised in the North Carolina backcountry, The Tan and Sober Gentlemen began taking in the songs, stories, and tunes that make up their beloved state's heritage before they could talk.
The band aims to explore the Gaelic roots of North Carolinian music, and to play it with as much energy as humanly possible. Tan and Sober hangs their hat on the fact that, no matter the venue or the crowd, their live show will have the audience engaged, smiling, and drenched with sweat. As far as folk music goes, they're about the best drinking and dancing band you'll find!!

Deep dive into the history of brewing in South Carolina. Take a tour of South Carolina's oldest brewery located in historic downtown Charleston. We will take a walk through history and through current beer production on Huger Street. You will have the opportunity to taste and learn all about this staple of Charleston's history.
We will begin the tour with an introduction to our Speakeasy taproom and journey through the location learning the ins and outs of a high production brewing facility.
The beginning of the tour will include a pint with your choice of fill. We will finish the tour with a tasting flight and tasting class.

TODAY (Sun. 4/4) Easter at Commonhouse Aleworks

For Christians, Easter is not about springtime, eggs, allergies, and bunnies but about hope offered to us through Jesus Christ and his resurrection that we “…may have life and life abundantly” (John 10:10). This year St. Andrew’s Park Circle is thrilled to host their outdoor Easter service in the heart of the neighborhood, thanks to Commonhouse Aleworks. If you don't have a church home and want to experience an Easter service please consider attending this service

The service will begin at 9:00 AM and will last about 55 minutes. You can expect live music and a message about the hope offered to us through Jesus. Children will stay with their families during worship.

Covid, unfortunately, remains a concern so to be as safe as possible there will be spaced-out seating, masks will be required during the service, hand sanitizer, and extra masks will be on hand, and it is encouraged only family pods to sit together while maintaining social distancing.

Before the service, enjoy free fresh coffee from Orange Spot Coffee. After the service, the folks at St. Andrew’s Park Circle hope to meet you and learn a little more about you as you enjoy the outdoor patio at Commonhouse Aleworks.
